• Take with food to avoid stomach upset.1
• This medication depletes potassium and supplementation may be necessary. However, consult a physician before supplementing with potassium.2
• Avoid overconsumption of foods that acidify or alkalinize the urine. This may affect drug elimination from the body.3
• Due to the known interaction between salicylates and Diamox, it would be advisable to avoid meadowsweet, poplar wintergreen and white willow. These herbs possess salicylate properties.4
• Avoid licorice with this medication due to increased risk of lowering blood potassium levels.5
