• Appetite or weight changes are possible.1
• Dry mouth, taste changes and other gastrointestinal problems may occur.2
• Avoid tryptophan with Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors3
• Avoid St. John's Wort, it may increase side effects of the drug. Increased sedation, serotonin like syndrome ( seizures, confusion and severe hypertension), may occur.4
• Avoid calamus, calendula, California poppy, catnip, couch grass, elecampane, Siberian ginseng, chamomile (German), goldenseal, gotu kola, hops, Jamaican dogwood, kava, lemon balm, sage, St. John's wort, sassafras, scullcap, shepherd's purse, stinging nettle, valerian, wild carrot, wild lettuce, withania, and yerba mansa with celexa because the sedative effects of these herbs may be potentiated.5
• Ginger may help to relieve the nausea associated with the withdrawal of Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors.6
