Children’s Health Defense (CHD), a nonprofit organization that publishes peer-reviewed science and exposes corruption in federal agencies, has been repeatedly targeted by Facebook censors and “fact checkers.” CHD engages in investigative journalism and publishes truthful information on topics of health and science. Facebook has repeatedly censored the nonprofit’s truthful public health posts, defamed CHD, and fraudulently misrepresented the organization.
Facebook is clearly aligned with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and are actively using their employees and algorithmic systems to censor and disparage anyone or any organization that publishes information that conflicts with the messaging and agenda of these government agencies.
On August 18, 2020, Children’s Health Defense filed a lawsuit against Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, and a trio of fact-checking gigs that have done nothing but repeatedly censor CHD’s truthful public health posts, while defaming the organization. Because CHD exposes corruption and challenges the one-size-fits-all policies put forth by the WHO, the CDC and the FCC, they are repeatedly targeted by censorship masquerading as “fact checking.”
Facebook has economic stakes in the telecom industry and the rollout of 5G networks. Facebook is also guilty of conflicts of interests with the pharmaceutical industry. This is why Facebook censors CHD’s Facebook page and targets its posts about children’s health, 5G radiation, vaccine safety, and informed consent.
Now that Facebook openly acknowledges that they coordinate with the WHO and CDC, their censorship of CHD has become a legitimate First Amendment violation. Notwithstanding, it was a Democratic Congressman who urged Facebook to suppress information that contradicts the official stance of the WHO and the CDC. In 2019, Intelligence Committee Chairman, Adam Schiff, called on Facebook to purge the internet of content that is critical of government vaccine policies. Since then, the WHO has issued a press release praising Facebook for suppressing “misinformation” from its platform. This “misinformation” is often times very important information that holds accountable pharmaceutical companies and bought-off government officials.
After the WHO commended Facebook for censoring information that does not support their official stance, Facebook branded CHD’s page with a “warning label” that claims CHD’s content is inaccurate. The warning label directs social media users away from CHD so they can access “reliable, up to date information” from the CDC. Facebook also deactivated CHD’s donate button, cutting off funding to the organization. Facebook has “shadow banned” CHD repeatedly, using deceptive technology to minimize the visibility of CHD content so followers and potential followers cannot access CHD content and information.
Now Facebook will be held accountable for openly censoring critique of government policies and discriminating against scientific progress and analysis on important public health topics. Attorneys Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Roger Teich, and Mary Holland will represent Children’s Health Defense in the litigation.
The lawsuit does not end there. Facebook uses “independent fact checkers” that are neither independent nor fact-based. These so-called fact checkers are allowed to defame CHD by publishing their own content on CHD’s page, superimposing their propaganda over the original content published by CHD.
All the deceptive tactics mentioned herein are a gross violation of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. It is unlawful for government agencies to coordinate with private monopolies like Facebook and vice versa to regulate the speech of the people. The right of the people to speak freely about government policies and officials is the reason why the First Amendment exists in the first place.
It is now the duty of the courts to declare Facebook’s actions unconstitutional and fraudulent. All organizations affected by this kind of government-sponsored censorship deserve injunctive relief and compensation for the damages. Facebook’s policies have caused false disparagement of upstanding publishers and have knowingly made false statements about professional doctors, journalists and scientists. Facebook must be held accountable.
