Conservative chatbot creator says OpenAI tried to censor content forcing them to abandon platform

The developers behind a conservative chatbot, which utilized OpenAI's ChatGPT technology, have revealed that they decided to discontinue it due to pressure exerted by OpenAI to regulate the bot's responses.

"The conservative chatbot, named GIPPR in honor of the late President Ronald Reagan, debuted in May and is part of TUSK, a pro-free speech and anti-censorship web browser," The Epoch Times reported. "GIPPR is a modified version of OpenAI’s ChatGPT and provides users with answers from a conservative perspective."

The creators noted they were forced to cut ties with OpenAI after being told their chatbot did not “conform to their requirements for what can or cannot be said.”

The outlet noted further:

TUSK founder and CEO Jeff Bermant said in a statement to Fox Business that OpenAI told him that GIPPR was not in compliance with its policies, which were “specifically related to deceptive activity and coordinated inauthentic behavior” and that they needed to “keep users and third parties safe.”

The actions of OpenAI appear to many conservatives as another example of attempted censorship from the left.

“The GIPPR bot had been modified to not be highly biased in favor of a leftist agendasomething which seems to be of critical importance to the original creators of ChatGPT,” Bermant noted in the statement, according to Fox Business. “Tusk had produced the only AI bot in operation which actually was fair and balanced and did not promote a radical leftist agenda.”

TUSK has revealed its ongoing efforts to find ways to reactivate GIPPR and called on users to assist in safeguarding free speech on the internet.

“Until they find a solution to get it back online, the world of AI will remain highly unbalanced,” Bermant added.

According to reports, ChatGTP is a cutting-edge AI technology that uses deep learning models to generate human-like text responses to prompts. Developed by OpenAI, ChatGTP is an advanced version of the GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) model that uses a large dataset of natural language text to generate coherent and contextually relevant responses.

The technology behind ChatGTP is based on a neural network architecture that uses multiple layers of processing to generate responses. The model is pre-trained on a large corpus of text data, which allows it to generate text that is contextually relevant and coherent.

One of the key benefits of ChatGTP is its ability to learn from user interactions. As users interact with the model, it can use the data to fine-tune its responses and improve its overall performance. This means that ChatGTP can adapt to different contexts and use cases, making it a versatile tool for a range of applications.

However, while ChatGTP has many advantages, there are also some potential drawbacks to consider. One of the main concerns is the possibility of bias in the data used to train the model. If the dataset used to train ChatGTP is biased in some way, this could lead to biased or unfair responses.

Another challenge is the potential for the model to generate inappropriate or offensive content. As with any AI technology, there is a risk that ChatGTP could generate responses that are inappropriate or offensive in some way. This underscores the importance of careful monitoring and oversight when deploying AI technologies like ChatGTP.

“We believe that Conservatives are subject to oppressive cancel culture that now includes AI and are expected to exist in a society that tells them what to think and how to act by the progressive left,” Bermant announced after he first released GIPPR.

“It’s time for a TRUTHFUL AI chatbot to take the market by storm and remove the barriers the Radical Left and Big Tech have put in place to allow all Conservatives to enjoy the benefits of AI, without fear of being canceled or shamed for your beliefs,” he added, according to The Epoch Times.
