L.A. County Superior Court Judge James Chalfant, responding to a lawsuit filed by the California Restaurant Association, put the county's public health apparatus on notice, ruling that the ban is a no-go without irrefutable science to back it.
"You have to do a risk-benefit analysis for public health," Chalfant stated. "You don't just talk about the risk of spreading disease. You have to talk about the benefit of keeping restaurants open."
Based on the studies he has personally reviewed, Chalfant is skeptical about the ban. He says the risk of spreading the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) outside is minimal at best, though he is offering the county a chance to "answer those questions and fill those holes."
Chalfant also wants to know how the county came to the conclusion that an outdoor dining ban was necessary after it was reported that new "cases" of the Chinese Virus in L.A. County have now reached about 4,000 per day.
"Cases" mean nothing since WuFlu tests are worthless, it is important to note. The true death rate from Covid-19 is also in dispute as the number of people who have died this year from all causes is roughly the same as every other year.
All things considered, 2020 is just another year, besides the endless media fearmongering and hysteria over new "cases" and "positive tests." And yet the government is pretending as though we have some kind of plague on our hands that requires destroying the global economy and forcing people into poverty and misery.

Truth be told, the "pandemic" is over, despite the fact that leftists are doubling down on the Covid-19 tyranny. Thankfully for Angelenos who value their freedoms and liberties, they have a friend in Judge Chalfant.
In addition to his other demands, Chalfant says public health officials in L.A. County must prove that the healthcare system will be overwhelmed without an outdoor dining ban, which we know will not be possible because there is no evidence or science to prove anything of the sort.
Amnon Siegel, an attorney representing L.A. County, is trying to claim that providing such data is "tricky" because hospital capacity is constantly fluctuating. This will not hold up as a valid excuse, however.
If it is not already clear to our readers, all of these tyrannical restrictions being imposed under the guise of "public health" have absolutely nothing to do with protecting anyone against some phantom disease. They are exclusively about controlling the public, and nothing more.
Drunk on power, politicians on both sides of the aisle have decided that life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as guaranteed by the Constitution is null and void now that a Chinese Virus is supposedly circulating. It is thus up to We the People to inform them that the Constitution is non-negotiable.
Chalfant has another week to decide on a temporary restraining order, which would prohibit L.A. County from imposing the new restriction on restaurant owners, many of whom are struggling as it is to make ends meet.
"I trust the court recognizes that there are people out of work who are not earning a living," stated Dennis Ellis, an attorney representing the California Restaurant Association.
