According to Hans von Spakovsky, who is also a senior legal fellow at the Meese Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, told SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily such drastic spikes for any candidate just don’t make any sense.
“If those reports are correct, I don’t understand it. The way you do counting is you simply count all of the ballots,” Von Spakovsky said of ballot dumps for Biden early Wednesday morning following Election Day.
“You don’t divide. They’re not divided up between the candidates. So the [precinct] reporting that’s coming in ought to be reporting of the total vote count, regardless of who it’s for. So again, if it’s confirmed that there are these weird reports coming out of votes only for one candidate and not the other, you’ve got to question, what exactly is going on?” he added.
The elections law expert was also asked about reports — now confirmed — that Republican ballot counting observers were being locked out of the process.
“It does raise concerns when you know that all the people that are working there are clearly Democrats,” said von Spakovsky. “That’s why it’s so important that those places comply with state poll-watching laws. All the campaigns [and] all the political parties are legally entitled to have poll watchers watching every aspect of the election process, including the counting process.”
Of course, Democrats say they believe in ‘transparency,’ but then Democrats always, always do or say the opposite of what they really think or feel and do.
“For places like Detroit to chase out and not allow legally appointed poll watchers in there to watch them processing these absentee ballots raises serious questions about possible misconduct going on,” von Spakovsky said. “Now, I don’t have evidence of misconduct. But the point is, if the poll watchers were there we would know what was exactly going on in the vote counting process.”
When poll watchers of either party are being chased out of vote-counting rooms, that in and of itself is ‘evidence of misconduct.’ (Related: Political guru Dick Morris says GOP state legislatures can declare Trump winner of stolen election.)
And the whole point of ballot observation is to ensure that ineligible votes don’t count — something the Trump campaign has been insisting on for days now.
“What I worry about is absentee ballots being accepted, processed, and counted that don’t comply with state law requirements, because they know it’s going to be the vote they like,” von Spakovsky noted.
“What I mean by that is an absentee ballot comes in, and the signature doesn’t match, so clearly it may be fraudulent. Or it came in late, but they counted it anyway. That’s the kind of thing you don’t want to have happening, because that is simply illegal,” he added.
And yet, that’s precisely what is happening but only in battleground states that Biden, who couldn’t draw flies to his campaign events, needs in order to get to 270 electoral votes.
Asked what advice he had for the president at this time, von Spakovsky said, “The only thing that’s going to help [Trump] now is lawful means, court orders ordering election officials to comply with the law [and] to not count absentee ballots that have been received in violation of state law. That’s where my resources would be concentrated if I was doing this.”
But is that the only means the president and his nearly 70 million voters have? Because had this election gone to him, Biden’s voters would have been out in the streets already burning down city blocks.
Maybe, if the president’s legal challenges aren’t successful, that’s exactly what his supporters should do: Go to liberal cities and give them more of their own medicine.
Or make secession a thing again — because we cannot coexist with a party that hates us bad enough to steal an election so they can punish us.
