Twenty-five-year-old Andrew Duncomb films demonstrations and other political events using the name "Black Rebel.” He is a vocal supporter of President Trump and recently traveled from his Northern California home to Portland in order to document the violent protests that have been taking place outside of the Hatfield courthouse. Many Democrat officials have been claiming the protests are “peaceful” despite claims to the contrary by many in attendance.
The incident took place at around 2:30 in the morning, when Duncomb and some friends noticed they were being followed for several blocks. He can be seen on video confronting a man wearing overalls, goggles and a respirator. When he asked the man why he was following him, the man stuck a knife into his back. Duncomb can be heard screaming in pain before falling backward. Others present pried the man away from Duncomb and held him down until police arrived on the scene.
Blake David Hampe was arrested on the scene and is being held on $250,000 bail on charges of second-degree assault and the unlawful use of a weapon. The 43-year-old suspect is believed to be a member of Antifa. He claimed that Duncomb tried to choke him, but that is not supported by the video footage of the events. Hampe has a past conviction for possessing child pornography in New Hampshire.
Duncomb said that he had a knife and a can of bear mace with him, but he was hesitant to use them because he did not want to endanger innocent bystanders. He said that the protesters were alerted to his presence in the area after he arrived. The conservative activist has more than 20,000 followers on Facebook and Twitter.
He was treated at a hospital and later released. He said the blade went into his back between his rib cage and hip, missing his spinal cord by just a few inches. He is now recovering and said he hopes to get back to covering protests soon.
The videographer frequently challenges Democrats and takes issue with the leftist narrative. He said: ”I was stopped for being a conservative journalist.” He added that the attack will not stop him from continuing his coverage.
Duncomb, who is black, has fervently defended the confederate flag and monuments. He said he was filming in Portland because he wanted to prove that it’s not just “the feds creating the problems.”
The city has been the scene of nightly protests since the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody. Federal agents have been sent in to help keep the situation under control despite opposition from the city’s liberal leadership.
Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf has said the federal agents will not be leaving the city until the federal courthouse is “safe and secure.”
Protesters have been throwing fireworks, cans and bottles at the courthouse and the federal officers protecting it, shining lasers in their eyes and trying to tear down reinforced fences.
The mainstream media tries to make it look like Trump is the one who is spreading violence by sending federal agents into Portland, but the actions of these antifa thugs speak for themselves. This is no longer about protecting black lives, and no one can argue otherwise when a black man was actually stabbed in the back for being a vocal Trump supporter.
