(NaturalNews) Just two years after Christopher Harper-Mercer relocated to Roseburg, Oregon, with his mother from their home in Torrance, California, he opened fire at Umpqua Community College, killing nine of his classmates and injuring dozens of others before turning the gun on himself.
Like the majority of other mass shooters, Harper-Mercer fits the bill for
psych drug shooters in that he had a history of mental illness and was placed in a psychiatric hospital by his mother after he failed to take his medication,
according to
The New York Times (NYT)
.Harper-Mercer's mother, Laurel Harper, who was a registered nurse in Oregon, told a coworker that her son had "some psychological problems" and a habit of going on and off his medication. "And that's where the big problem is, when he doesn't take his medication," Ms. Harper told her coworker.
Ms. Harper said her son
also suffered from Asperger's syndrome, an autism spectrum disorder, and exhibited disruptive behavior when he was a child.
While dozens of major news publications, including the
NYT, are reporting that Harper-Mercer was on medication, they're dancing around the question lingering in all of our minds: What drugs was he on?
Mainstream media dances around mass shooter's link to psych drugs
Of course, while
independent media have sought to expose the truth, the mainstream media has become well-versed in withholding information regarding mass shooters and their prescribed medications, as they would surely suffer repercussions from their Big Pharma sponsors.
However, we do know that Harper-Mercer had an intimate relationship with pharmaceutical drugs, as he routinely wrote social
media posts under the screen name "Lithium Love," an important detail that the NTY conveniently left out of their overstated profile on Harper-Mercer, which gives him the exact fame that he was so desperately seeking, and that future shooters will also aspire to attain.
Lithium is a mood stabilizer that alters brain chemical activity and is used to treat mania, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and depression. Lithium may cause a number of side effects including blackouts, confusion, hallucinations and uncontrollable shaking, and can be very dangerous to young children and pregnant women.
Harper-Mercer's love/hate relationship with
prescription drugs was illustrated even further when he wrote on his Facebook page on August 16 that he had "a pill bottle with like five types of pills mixed in" and didn't know which ones were sleep aids, so he ended up taking "four of each."
Clearly, this was a call for help. But rather than getting help, the post was shared at least 13 times, likely out of apathetic amusement.
How the mainstream media is breeding mass killers
Rather than sticking to important details about mass shooters, such as the medications that they were prescribed, or any history of mental illness, the
mainstream media continues to glamorize these killers, profiling every detail of their entire existence.
Nearly every mass shooter has admitted that they wanted glory, fame and recognition. Based on their "manifestos," it's almost as if their motivation is not to kill people but to get the fame that's associated with the act of killing – fame that's given to them by the mainstream media of course, which repeatedly capitalizes on these mass murders, all while ignoring the true cause.
Harper-Mercer was no different, and proved it when he
wrote that it seems like
"the more people you kill, the more you're in the limelight." Rather than interviewing every one of Harper-Mercer's neighbors, or the people he rode the bus with, why not interview his doctor, or the medical workers at the psychiatric ward that he was checked into?
All the public needs to know is what drove him to commit such a heinous crime. They don't need to know about every social media post he wrote, or that he wore headphones on the bus every day!
Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin, who's leading the investigation, had it right when he asked the media to avoid glorifying the killer, saying his name or even identifying him at all.
The media's response? Well, they glamorized the killer any way, and now they want Hanlin fired because he supports the Second Amendment and was audacious enough to question the official narrative of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting and the 9/11 attacks on his Facebook page two years ago.
