(NaturalNews) Staying true to his word, legendary singer-songwriter Neil Young will soon release a new album directly targeting Monsanto, the world's most evil corporation, for unleashing a Pandora's box of violence against the ecosystem and humanity with its untested, unlabeled genetically-modified organisms (GMOs) and corresponding crop chemicals like Roundup, which contains glyphosate.
A recent report by
Rolling Stone explains how Young's new album,
The Monsanto Years, will focus on Monsanto's hijacking of the food chain with protest-centered songs such as "Monsanto Years," "Rock Starbucks," "Seeds," and "Too Big to Fail." The album will also feature Willie Nelson's sons Lukas and Micah, both of whom have previously worked with Young.
"It's an upbeat review of the situation," Young told media sources about the project, which aims to shine a light on the collusion between government and industry to keep people in the dark about the presence of GMOs in food.
Young has long vocalized his opposition to GMOs and Monsanto specifically, expressing outrage over Big Biotech's stranglehold on regulatory policy throughout the country. While countries throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa have successfully implemented mandatory GMO labeling laws or outright bans on biotechnology, the U.S. continues to be sold a bill of goods based on lies and deception.
Last fall, Young announced on his website that he would no longer be purchasing coffee beverages from Starbucks due to the company's alleged involvement in a lawsuit scheme to strike down a mandatory
GMO labeling law passed by voters in the state of Vermont. As a member of the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA), which actively fights against honest and transparent food labeling, Starbucks is complicit in keeping the public in the dark about GMOs.
"I used to line up and get my latte every day, but yesterday was my last one," wrote Young, according to
Rolling Stone. "Starbucks has teamed up with
Monsanto to sue Vermont, and stop accurate food labeling."
Neil Young to hold first ever concert in Vermont to support first U.S. state to mandate GMO labeling
Young's new Monsanto album will be featured during his upcoming Rebel Content tour, which will make a stop in Essex Junction, Vermont, at the Champlain Valley Expo on July 19. This concert event will mark the first time that Young has ever held a show in the state of Vermont. Other stops on the tour will include Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on July 5 and Red Rocks in Denver, Colorado, on July 8 and 9.
The full lineup of the Rebel Content tour circuit is as follows:
July 5: Milwaukee, WI - Summerfest
July 8 & 9: Denver, CO - Red Rocks
July 11: Lincoln, NE - Pinnacle Bank Arena
July 13: Cincinnati, OH - Riverbend Music Center
July 14: Clarkston, MI - DTE Energy Music Theatre
July 16: Camden, NJ - Susquehanna Bank Center
July 17: Bethel, NY - Bethel Woods Center for the Arts
July 19: Essex Junction, VT - Champlain Valley Expo
July 21: Wantagh, NY - Jones Beach
July 22: Great Woods, MA - Xfinity Center
July 24: Oro-Medonte, ONT - Wayhome Festival
"There's much more at stake here than just whether GMO foods will be labeled in a single U.S. state," stated Young. "Vermont is the very first state in the U.S. to require labeling. Dozens of other states have said that they will follow this path -- in order to encourage this, we need to ensure that Vermont's law stands strong."
