(NaturalNews) Mental Health Exposed is growing in leaps and bounds, thanks to readers of Natural News, Mike Adams and the exceptional staff at Natural News Radio. Much appreciation to all!
This week's show is inspired by Erin Falconer's survey of her 80,000+ newsletter subscribers at
PickTheBrain.com, one of the web's most traveled personal development blogs. Erin and her partner, Barrie Davenport of
LiveBoldandBloom.com, asked readers what they wanted most out of their personal development efforts. The number one answer: Self-confidence.
On this episode of
Mental Health Exposed, I speak with Erin about the fundamentals of self-confidence and get her take on what we can do to increase it. This episode alone is like a self-contained personal development seminar, full of ideas you can apply immediately to gain more confidence in your life.
Additionally, Erin and Barrie have recently announced their new program,
Simple Self-Confidence, which we discuss on the show? What is self-confidence? How does it work? How do we increase it? The ideas we discuss can be put to immediate use!
?In the second half of the show I bring on my long-time colleague Jake Eagle of
GreenPsychology.net. Jake and I have recently hatched the concept of deep, emotional safety. Of course, emotional safety is not new concept, but we feel it has been sorely neglected in the world of personal development (in favor of a bunch of hype).
The concept of deep emotional safety
Before we are able to focus on others and before we can worry about social status, contribution or our mission in life, we have to feel emotionally safe. Emotional safety is fundamental! Without it, the higher pursuits in life are beyond us. For most people the topic of emotional safety isn't that interesting, but lack of interest in this fundamental a huge mistake.
Every major negative emotion we experience indicates a lack perceived emotional safety.
When you feel safe, you DON'T feel stressed, angry, jealous, anxious or depressed. All of these emotions, in one way or another, result from a perceived lack of emotional safety. When you feel fundamentally safe, you are fundamentally relaxed.
It makes sense, then to take a proactive role in your own safety.
Listen to this episode to learn specifically how to accomplish this.

missing link in mental health and personal development. In a world full of shallow, quick-fix techniques, second rate psychology and pharmaceutical takeovers, real solutions have become nearly impossible to find.
