Abbott has bussed nearly 100,000 migrants from Texas to various "we welcome our immigrant neighbors" cities like New York, Boston, Chicago and Denver since first launching the program. Leaders of said cities are complaining that there is nowhere to house all those migrants, and are now begging the Biden regime to do something.
Despite previously bragging that their cities would always serve as a sanctuary for illegals, officials in New York, Boston, Chicago and Denver now admit that they cannot provide sanctuary to all the illegals because there are not enough resources available. Amazingly, Biden and other Democrats on Capitol Hill are ready to negotiate, especially since 2024 is an election year.

Republicans want several things to change as far as immigration law enforcement is concerned, including the so-called "credible fear interview." Abbott hopes this early hurdle for prospective asylum seekers will be tweaked to allow migrants to be sent back home much earlier in the migration process.
Both the White House and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas are also said to be considering new rules to allow for the faster deportation of illegal migrants. Mind you, making such a change would have been unheard of at the start of the Biden regime.
Another reason Biden et al. are softening up to Republican demands for a tighter southern border is because the right is threatening to tie up military funding for Ukraine and Israel unless the left concedes. To win the 2024 election, Democrats are going to have to do something, reports suggest.
Abbott has made it clear that the migrant bussing scheme has only just begun, and that there are a lot more migrants coming to America's sanctuary cities in the coming days.
"Sanctuary cities like NYC & Chicago have seen only a FRACTION of what overwhelmed Texas border towns face daily," Abbott wrote on X (formerly Twitter.)
"We will continue our transportation mission until Biden reverses course on his open border policies."
In fiscal year 2023, an astounding 2.4 million migrants streamed illegally across the U.S. southern border. This is according to official figures – the true number is likely much higher when accounting for migrants who never encounter Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents.
On an average day, CBP encounters around 6,575 migrants, meaning the equivalent number of migrants that Abbott has thus far bussed from Texas to America's sanctuary cities crosses into the U.S. every two weeks.
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) has also written a letter to Delta Airlines demanding an investigation into claims that the air carrier is flying illegals from the southern border into the U.S. Gaetz wants to know how "non-resident aliens" are able to "book and travel" on Delta flights.
According to Gaetz, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) are using federal tax dollars to purchase flights for migrants, even though they are not necessarily passing verification checks.
"Even more alarming than American taxpayers footing the bill for non-resident aliens to be transported into our communities is that they may not be properly vetted," Gaetz wrote in his letter.
