Biden’s claim that deadly Midwestern storms stem from human-caused “climate change” ripped as “utter bulls**t” by real meteorologist

Brain-addled President Joe Biden claimed this week that "climate change" was to blame for a deadly outbreak of tornadoes throughout the Midwest.

"I'm monitoring the situation very closely since early this morning. This is likely to be one of the largest tornado outbreaks in our history," Biden noted during a press conference shortly after twisters destroyed much of Mayfield, Kentucky, and caused severe damage in portions of surrounding states.

"Earlier today, I called the governors of the states that have experienced severe impacts of the storms, including Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, as well as Tennessee."

"Jill and I pray – and I sincerely mean this – pray for those who have lost loved ones and for those who are uncertain of the fate of their loved ones. And the debris that you see scattered all over the hurricane's path," Biden said.

"They lost their homes. They lost their businesses. And it's a tragedy. It's a tragedy. And we still don't know how many lives were lost or the full extent of the damage," he added.

Never mind that Biden is confusing tornadoes with hurricanes (and keep in mind our enemies are watching this comedy of errors unfold daily – and they are planning their next strategic moves). Here comes the rest of this lunacy.

"All I know is that the intensity of the weather across the board has some impacts as a consequence of the warming of the planet and climate change," Biden said after a reporter questioned him about the potential role climate change might have had.

"The specific impact on these specific storms, I can't say at this point. The fact is that we all know everything is more intense when the climate is warming. Everything. And, obviously, it has some impact here, but I can't give you a quantitative read on that," Biden added.

The baseless, factless claim got instant pushback from meteorologist Joe Bastardi, who called the claim "insanity."

"Insanity. It's a below average tornado, wind damage and hail season. No credibility. No knowledge of past weather, We are in the hands of leftists who weaponize weather for their purposes. Deceit and deception. Piling on the misery don't both(er) them. Sociopathic," he tweeted in response to comments from Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Deanne Criswell.

Even the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (UN IPCC) disagrees with Biden. Extreme Weather Expert Dr. Roger Pielke Jr. noted that the UN IPCC AR6 WG1 states: "Trends in tornadoes associated with severe convective storms are not robustly detected. Attribution of certain classes of extreme weather (e.g., tornadoes) is beyond current modeling and theoretical capabilities. How tornadoes will change is an open question."

Climatologist Patrick J. Michaels added: "With regard to tornadoes, Biden's appears to be thriving in a fact-free world. Sure, the number of tornadoes is increasing, but that’s because of improved detection technology. What about the ones that you don’t need radar to see, because they are monsters like Friday’s twisters? These would be the EF-4 and EF-5 storms. Friday's storm in Mayfield hasn't been classified yet, but surely is one of these."

"It’s obvious that Biden is just wrong. Extreme tornadoes are in decline as the world has warmed. And it seems a bit insensitive to piggyback on people's misfortune in order to push climate policies that recent polls indicate no one wants," he added.

By the way, in the 1970s, scientists and climatologists were blaming extreme weather events on "global cooling."

"Droughts, floods, blizzards, tornadoes, typhoons and hurricanes have plagued much of the nation and the world in recent years," the Lincoln Journal Star reported in July 1974.

"Most people considered these weather conditions to be abnormal and temporary, but instead, climatologists now believe the first half of the 20th century was blessed with unusually mild weather and that the global climate has begun returning to a harsher – but more normal – state. For the long run, there is mounting evidence of a worldwide cooling trend," the paper said.
