Democrats are pushing to pack Supreme Court with left-wing activists, financed by “dark money” donors trying to buy our government
04/27/2021 // JD Heyes // Views

Once upon a time, the most cynical Americans among us often quipped that our government "is the best that money can buy."

But nowadays, it's not just the cynical who say that. Increasingly, ordinary Americans are conceding, publicly and privately, that we have completely lost control over any aspect of government because so much money is being thrown at politicians that even overwhelming majorities of voters mean nothing to our elected 'leaders.'

And one example after another keeps proving them right.

Readers may recall that in recent days, Democrats have announced they will push legislation aimed at increasing the number of justices on the U.S. Supreme Court by four, bringing the total to 13 -- even though the court has had nine justices since 1869 and that number has worked out exceedingly well.

Now, mind you, with the decrepit Joe Biden in the White House, his left-wing behind-the-scenes handlers will ensure that he doesn't nominate candidates who revere the nation's founding document and have demonstrated through years of work on the federal bench that they fashion their rulings based on the Constitution -- not 'feelings' or some abstract claim to know better than our own framers what they meant when the wrote it.

No, they will have Biden nominate straight-up activists who just happen to be judges as well (or not, as in the case of Elena Kagan, who didn't sit on the federal bench but rather practiced Marxist activism as a law school professor at Harvard). And when that happens, the Supreme Court won't be the highest court within the Judicial Branch, it will become little more than another legislative body for the Democrats in perpetuity, rubber stamping their agenda by claiming blatantly unconstitutional laws (like banning all firearms) are somehow 'constitutional.'

What's more, there is a lot of left-wing dark money being spent to ensure this new legislative branch becomes a reality.

Fox News reports:

A coalition of liberal dark money groups and networks is behind efforts to expand the Supreme Court, which some top Democrats have thrown their weight behind in recent weeks.

Sen. Ed Markey, D.-Mass., and Rep. Jerry Nadler, D.-N.Y., are leading congressional efforts to expand the Supreme Court from nine to 13 seats. The Democratic lawmakers were joined by members from activist groups Demand Justice, Take Back the Court and Indivisible as they announced legislation on the matter in mid-April.

Prior to the announcement, those left-wing groups formed a coalition to undo former President Trump's judicial legacy, which included plans of adding justices to the nation’s top court.

To add even more to the belief that our government is the best money can buy, each of those Marxist groups that want to add seats to the court are being funded with cash that is coming from anonymous donors, meaning it's not clear who is funding the pressure campaign. Could be foreign interests like China or Russia for all we know. (Related: DeSantis urges America to reject “Faucism,” return to old normal.)

And that's very likely the case, too, because of the players involved. For example, Demand Justice, the most active of the groups, is linked to many of Biden's top aides. In fact, White House press secretary Jen Psaki was an outside advisor to one of them, while Paige Herwig, Biden's top adviser on judicial picks, also worked for the same group before joining the regime.

Other groups involved include the Sixteen Thirty Fund, "a nonprofit incubator that provides its tax and legal status to nonprofits, which allows them to avoid filing publicly available tax forms," Fox News reported (and remember, Democrats are the ones who complain about 'big corporations avoiding taxes'). This org is managed by Arabella Advisers, which raked in some $715 million "in secretive donations for left-wing groups and causes it houses in 2019 alone," the network added.

"The liberal dark money groups that helped elect Joe Biden and Senate Democrats have been pushing for court packing for years, and now they want what they paid for: A Supreme Court stacked with politicians in robes that will advance their radical policy agenda," said Carrie Severino, president of the Judicial Crisis Network.

Might be time for red states to start thinking about what line Biden will have to cross before it is considered one too many.
