5G networks, which operate on radio waves and microwave frequencies, emit higher frequency radiation compared to cell phones and past generations of wireless technology. Because the energy of a wave is directly proportional to its frequency, 5G waves will be strong enough to heat up and even damage tissues in the body.
5G technology requires many base stations, called small cells, closely located to each 0ther. As a result, small cells will have to be installed almost everywhere. Given this network densification, humans will be exposed to harmful radiation nonstop.
The human body contains sweat glands that lie just beneath the skin and are connected to the pores by tiny ducts. Recent research found that these ducts function like antennae that serve as receptors for 5G radiation. 5G waves could interact with the skin and cause skin damage.
Studies have shown that pregnant cows grazing near cell phone towers are at a higher risk of giving birth to calves with nuclear cataracts – cataracts affecting the center of the lens. One study found that 79 out of 253 calves had various degrees of nuclear cataracts and 9 had severe nuclear cataracts. The researchers said that the incidence of cataract appears to be linked to the number and strength of network antennas in the area.
The millimeter-wave frequencies of 5G may damage the DNA in mitochondria. The mitochondrial DNA is not protected by the nucleus and has no repair mechanisms. For that reason, it is more likely to get damaged due to electromagnetic field (EMF) exposure.
Radiofrequency waves are possibly carcinogenic to humans. In a study published in the Lancet Oncology, researchers looked at one cohort study and five case-control studies in humans. Each study examined whether there's a link between cell phone use and glioma, a cancer of the central nervous system. Based on these studies, the researchers concluded that exposure to radiofrequency waves is possibly linked to glioma.
5G technology may amplify the harmful effects of EMF exposure via voltage-gated calcium channels (VGCCs). By activating the body’s VGCCs, EMF from 5G can trigger the release of excess calcium ions into the cell, creating nitric oxide and superoxide that react with each other to form peroxynitrite and free radicals. Peroxynitrite is a highly unstable ion that interacts with lipids, DNA and proteins. This, in turn, can contribute to cardiovascular disease, neurodegenerative disorders and several other conditions.
5G technology's millimeter frequencies are also used in military weapons like the Active Denial System (ADS). Though ADS is not lethal, it can cause serious injuries such as burns and blisters. Short electromagnetic pulses emitted by 5G technology can potentially replicate inside the body and even end up creating tiny 5G antennas. These antennas may re-radiate EMF and send it deeper into the body.
As more countries adopt 5G technology, base stations will be everywhere after the rollout and constantly expose everyone to EMF. To minimize these hazards, refrain from using 5G technology.
