Serena Williams exemplifies the new, deranged Left: When they lose, it’s never their fault, so they attack and verbally abuse the referees
09/14/2018 // Vicki Batts // Views

Serena Williams may be a tennis legend, but her reaction to being dealt late-game penalties and losing at the U.S. Open women's final is nothing admirable. The sports star received multiple penalties during the game for violating the rules. Instead of taking it all in stride, Williams lashed out at referee Carlos Ramos, accusing him of "sexism" and calling him a "thief." Much like former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, Williams believes she has been "wronged" by a man on the court, insisting Ramos "stole" her victory.

After all, how could Williams ever be defeated by another woman? The insistence that Ramos was "sexist" for not allowing Williams to cheat is disturbing -- but this is the new Left. When things don't go their way, it has to be someone else's fault.

Had the referee only turned a blind eye to Williams' cheating and temper, she could have won!

How many reasons has the Left come up with for Hillary Clinton's election loss? The entire left-wing has refused to admit she lost the election because people didn't want to vote for her; instead, they cry sexism and misogyny and blame "the Russians." Clinton has even gone so far as to blame white women for her election failure, stating in an interview with NPR that white females didn't vote for her because of pressure from their husbands. Now that is a sexist statement.

Serena Williams lost, but it was her own fault

Serena Williams' insistence that referee Ramos was "sexist" to give her a warning for receiving hand signals from her coach is "sexism" is downright confounding. According to her, the penalties she was given would have never happened in a men's game.

As sources report, Williams received her first warning after Ramos observed her coach sending her hand signals. She reacted poorly to this, stating that she'd rather lose than cheat. However, her coach, Patrick Mouratoglous, admitted to ESPN that he had indeed been coaching her from the stands -- an obvious rule violation.

Williams was handed a point penalty, for smashing her racket on the court. After the penalty, Williams called Ramos a "thief" amid a stream of verbal abuse.

Williams is not unfamiliar with getting penalties of this nature: In 2016, she received a $10,000 fine for smashing and throwing a racket after a missed shot at Wimbledon.

Viktor Troicki, a male player, was fined the exact same amount of money for the same exact unsportsmanlike conduct at the same event, by the way.

In 2009, she was disqualified from the U.S. Open entirely for threatening a line judge.  "If I could, I would take this ******* ball and shove it down your ******* throat," she reportedly said.

Williams has a track record for outrageous behavior. But instead of owing up to the fact that she was acting inappropriately on the court in anger, she has instead chosen to lash out at a referee just doing his job. Ramos is known for being a "stickler for the rules," and has angered several players over the years with his stringency.

Par for the course in liberal la-la land, Williams is using the shield of "women's rights" to defend her atrocious conduct, and to lay the blame of her loss at someone else's feet.

"I’m here fighting for women’s rights and for women’s equality and for all kinds of stuff. For me to say ‘thief’, and for him to take a game, it made me feel like it was a sexist remark. He’s never taken a game from a man because they said ‘thief,'" Williams claims.

Whether or not a male player has called Ramos a "thief" before is not confirmed. However, Ramos penalized a male player at the 2016 Olympics for calling him "stupid."

Statistics also show that men in tennis actually receive three times as many code violations as women.

Many female players have weighed in. Billie Jean King, a famous female tennis player, commented, "Coaching on every point should be allowed in tennis. It isn’t, and as a result, a player was penalized for the actions of her coach. This should not happen." King is essentially suggesting that the judges should bend the rules because they're women.

During the 2016 election, liberals said Clinton deserved to win because it was "time" for a female president. Newsflash, liberals: You win games and elections with merit and skill, not gender politics.
