Fairfax County principal, social worker accused of secretly sending pregnant teens for abortions using public school funds

  • Two underage girls at Centreville High School in Fairfax County, VA, claim school officials arranged and funded abortions without notifying their parents, violating Virginia's parental-notification law.
  • Both girls identified Chad Lehman, the school principal, and social worker Carolina Díaz as directly involved. One girl underwent the procedure at age 17 in 2021; the other fled the clinic after allegedly being told she "had no choice" but to terminate.
  • The procedures were reportedly paid for using school resources, which could lead to criminal charges, including misuse of public funds and coercion of minors.
  • Teacher Zenaida Perz, who spoke out after learning of the incidents, says administrators tried to force her out by baiting her into policy violations once she became involved.
  • Journalist Walter Curt, who broke the story, is urging Gov. Glenn Youngkin and Attorney General Jason Mayores to investigate. The case has ignited public outrage and could influence Virginia's political landscape ahead of the November elections.

A high school principal and social worker in one of the nation's wealthiest school districts are under fire after being accused of secretly facilitating abortions for underage students using public school funds, without notifying the girls' parents.

According to independent journalist Walter Curt, who broke the story in his article for the W.C. Dispatch and discussed it in the "Political Theater" podcast, two teenage girls at Centreville High School in Fairfax County, Virginia, were allegedly taken to an abortion clinic with the knowledge and approval of the school principal, Chad Lehman, without ever notifying their parents.

One girl, an 11th-grade ESOL student, said she underwent an abortion in November 2021 at age 17. A translated, handwritten statement detailed how school social worker Carolina Díaz allegedly coordinated the procedure at Fairfax Healthcare Center, paid the clinic fees and instructed her to tell no one.

A second girl, five months pregnant, said she fled the same clinic after Díaz allegedly told her she had "no choice" but to terminate. The frightened student later confided in her teacher, Mrs. Zenaida Perz, who went on the record and provided audio confirming the family was never notified. (Related: ABORTION WELFARE: Getting an abortion in California is now "free," thanks to Gavin Newsom.)

Both girls named Díaz as the staffer involved and alleged that Lehman approved the actions. Most alarming of all: the procedures or attempts thereof were reportedly funded using school resources, implicating taxpayer dollars in potentially illegal abortions conducted in secret.

The story doesn't end at the clinic door. Perz and written statements from multiple students and school administrators revealed that the school attempted to silence her after she became aware of the abortion arrangement. Perz claimed staff attempted to bait her into minor infractions to justify disciplinary action or forced resignation.

"And if two frightened teenagers can describe the same counselor, the same locked-door clinic and the same hush-money trail, common sense says Centreville is nursing a deeper wound. How many daughters have already been shuttled through that bolted entrance on the taxpayers’ dime, their parents left out of the conversation until it was too late?" Curt wrote.

Curt calls for immediate action and accountability

The story has gained rapid traction on social and alternative media platforms, with Curt now calling for immediate action from Virginia's Republican leadership.

"This is when Virginia leadership needs to get involved. Gov. [Glenn] Youngkin and Attorney General Mayores, you're up. If you want to seize the moral high ground going into November, I would say this is the story to do that. There needs to be investigations, subpoenas, audit of every single dollar that moved from Fairfax schools into that so-called health care center. That's got to happen. If you don't do that, you're not going to convince parents that you're on their side," Curt said.

Under Virginia Code § 16.1?241 (V), parental notification is required for minors seeking abortions unless a judicial bypass is obtained. No such bypass exists in either case reviewed. If school employees helped arrange or pay for these procedures, the implications are severe, including potential charges for misuse of public funds, coercion and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

"Parents across Virginia must now stare that question in the eye and demand answers because unless swift accountability follows, an unmarked door in Fairfax will stand as a grim reminder that parental rights, the backbone of any free republic, can be pushed to the curb with a sly smile and a deadbolt," Curt concluded in his article.
