Hostages were some of Hamas's youngest victims
The bodies of the Bibas family and Oded Lifshitz, an 83-year-old retired journalist and peace activist, were returned to Israel after more than 500 days in captivity. The Bibas children, who became symbols of the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack, were among the youngest victims of the conflict. Their father, Yarden Bibas, was released earlier this month, but the fate of his family remained uncertain until Thursday.
Israeli President Isaac Herzog expressed the nation’s collective grief, stating, “Agony. Pain. There are no words.
