Just hours after The Onion purchased Infowars in bankruptcy, Alex Jones website WENT DOWN (but it’s back online for now)
11/17/2024 // Ethan Huff // Views

From now on, when trying to visit the Infowars website, you will be met with a blank screen and the following words:

"Site unavailable till further notice."

In case you missed it, Infowars was initially believed to have been auctioned off to the highest bidder following its bankruptcy over comments owner Alex Jones once made about the Sandy Hook shooting and the many unanswered questions surrounding it.

Jones was sued and his media empire effectively taken from him by the establishment. The Onion won the bid, though Jones says it was not quite that simple.

Watch below as Jones confirms that the federal government refused the top offer for Infowars and instead chose the lower bid from The Onion in order to prevent Jones from retaining any kind of control over the now-defunct media outlet.

"This shows it's not about helping the Sandy Hook families, it's about punishment," commented "Autism Capital" (@AutismCapital), which shared the video:

Establishment drove Jones to bankruptcy, selected competition to take over Infowars and shut it down

Founded in 1999, Infowars grew to become one of the most highly read independent media outlets in the world. Then, the establishment came for Jones and the rest is history.

According to Jones, the auction's trustee had the freedom to choose any bidder from the pool, not necessarily the highest bidder.

"I just got word 15 minutes ago that my lawyers and folks met with the U.S. trustee over our bankruptcy this morning and they said they are shutting us down even without a court order this morning," Jones said in another video that you can watch below.

"The Connecticut Democrats with The Onion newspaper bought us."

According to The Onion, the Sandy Hook "families" that won a $1.4 billion defamation lawsuit against Jones sanctioned the bid. It is unknown how much The Onion ended up paying for Infowars and its assets, which include the production studio and supplement business run by Jones.

Come January, Infowars will be relaunched as a parody of itself by Ben Collins, CEO of Global Tetrahedron, the parent company of The Onion.

"What's next for InfoWars remains a live issue," The Onion wrote in a bizarre post that was supposed to be funny.

"The excess funds initially allocated for the purchase will be reinvested into our philanthropic efforts that include business school scholarships for promising cult leaders, a charity that donates elections to at-risk third world dictators, and a new pro bono program pairing orphans with stable factory jobs at no cost to the factories."

We will spare you the rest of the post as it is simply too unfunny to stomach, but suffice it to say that leftists really needed this muted victory lap following Donald Trump's reelection to the White House, which they will be reeling over, likely for years.

"This was an opportunity for us to give The Onion the facts, the storytelling, the data and the research that's at our fingertips," commented John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety, an anti-Second Amendment group that emerged following Sandy Hook.
