Rhoda Wilson of the Daily Expose elaborated on this in a Nov. 4 piece, citing a separate article by A Midwestern Doctor (AMD) on Substack. Gardasil arose as a way to recoup the losses Merck incurred from its dangerous non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) Vioxx. The NSAID was linked to a higher risk of stroke and heart attack, and had killed an estimated 120,000 people before it was withdrawn from the market in 2004.
"Merck eventually had to pay a $5 billion Vioxx settlement, while the CEO received a $37.8 million 'performance-based' bonus – [leaving] Merck short of funds," AMD wrote. "This was solved by the decades of research finally yielding an HPV vaccine, which Merck and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) immediately went to work marketing through an 'award-winning' advertising blitz that convinced every American they needed to be scared to death of cervical cancer – a fairly rare cancer."
The ad campaign was effective; 25.1 percent of adolescent girls were injected with Gardasil in 2007, 53.8 percent in 2011 and 79.3 percent last year. However, AMD pointed out that many who received Gardasil to protect themselves from HPV developed infections. Even Gardasil's own trial data showed that it worsened existing infections to the point of being cancerous.
DNA contamination – a problem also identified with the COVID-19 injections – also plagued Gardasil. AMD continued: "There have been numerous cases where young vaccinated [girls] … [were] discovered to have HPV plasmid DNA in their bodies. Those plasmids have been found in every HPV vaccine where it was tested for." (Related: Gardasil HPV vaccines found contaminated with recombinant DNA that persists in human blood.)
Given the dangers of Gardasil, the FDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) "were deluged with a wave of reports of adverse reactions" when the HPV injection was introduced. But instead of acknowledging the vaccine damage caused by Gardasil, the two agencies "doubled down" on promoting it and created "an increasingly elaborate series of steps to shield it."
AMD shared one example of how the FDA and CDC shielded Gardasil despite the numerous instances of vaccine damage linked to the HPV injection. The two agencies launched a study in 2009 to examine Gardasil's safety profile, presumably in response to widespread publicity. The said study looked at reports filed in the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) between Gardasil's approval in mid-2006 and the end of 2008.
"The VAERS reporting rate for [Gardasil] is triple the rate for all other vaccines combined," the study noted, even though its authors acknowledged that the platform suffered from underreporting. It found that 68 percent of the reporters were submitted by Merck representatives, with most needing more accuracy or further completion. Meanwhile, 90 percent of reports about Gardasil-related vaccine damage required more information essential for conducting medical assessments.
The authors nevertheless declared that despite these red flags, the high rate of adverse events "reflects greater public attention to HPV" – which "widespread media coverage … stimulated." They also claimed that Gardasil's "post-licensure safety profile" as calculated from VAERS data is "broadly consistent" with safety data collected in its clinical trials, even though they failed to prove both points.
"Not surprisingly, following the study's publication, news organizations and health authorities such as the CDC and [World Health Organization] referenced this 'study' as proof that Gardasil was safe," wrote AMD. "Sound familiar?"
"Vaccines often carry risks that far outweigh their benefits, and even when injuries are evident in trials – as they were with Gardasil – regulators still approve them. Sadly, this mirrors what we saw with the COVID-19 vaccines."
