New York officials terrorize animal rescue sanctuary, seize Peanut the squirrel in bizarre raid

The internet is abuzz with controversy over a recent police raid on a farm in upstate New York where two animals, Peanut the squirrel and Fred the raccoon, were seized by authorities with both getting euthanized on suspicion that they might have had rabies.

The New York Post reported that the five-hour, 10-government agency raid, which occurred on Mark Longo's farm, resulted in the state killing Peanut and Fred while treating Longo as a "terrorist."

On social media, Peanut in particular has captured the hearts of about three million users who woke up one day to find that their beloved rodent had been picked up by law enforcement and taken away by the Department of Environmental Conservation and Health.

"They treated me like I was a terrorist," Longo said, recalling that the raid happened by surprise, out of the blue. "They treated this raid as if I was a drug dealer. They ransacked my house for five hours."

"They asked my wife, who is of German descent, what her immigration status was. They asked if I had cameras in my house. They wouldn't allow me to go to the bathroom without a police escort, who then checked the back of the toilet to see if I was hiding anything there."

Mark Longo and his wife are also pornographers

While some are claiming that the raid is just another example of "government waste, overreach, and misuse of resources," to quote one X / Twitter account, TMZ proposed another idea about what truly prompted the raid.

One of the first questions the cops asked Longo when they arrived is if he has any cameras in his house. This is significant because Longo and his wife have uploaded pornography of themselves to OnlyFans, this as they also babysit on occasion for their neighbors.

It appears as though at least one of the motivating factors behind the raid was to determine whether or not minors are being exposed to illicit smut while at the home of the Longos where Peanut and Fred both lived.

"I think there's an ulterior motive here, and it seems it has to do with my spicy social media presence, especially since other than taking the animals, they took no action against me," Longo himself admitted to TMZ.

It is also worth noting that the search warrant claimed probable cause to believe that Longo had committed a crime, though he was issued no citation or anything else at the time of the raid. Since the raid, nobody from any of the agencies involved have contacted Longo.

"I loved watching peanut," wrote a commenter, adding that the story "hurts" her heart.

"Him and the little raccoon were precious," she added. "I can't imagine how heartbroken they are."

Others pointed out that unless there really is some kind of sexual crime the authorities are investigating while using the rodents as cover, this is probably not the best use of resources.

"Let a guy die on the subway and blame Daniel Penny, but we have time to exercise a warrant on a squirrel and a raccoon," one wrote about the apparent misplaced priorities of the New York state government.

"There was no reason they needed to make the decision right then and there to euthanize," wrote another. "The process should involve contacting an expert which would have been able to help verify paperwork."
