JD Vance: ‘Our interest is in not going to war with Iran’

Donald Trump's vice presidential nominee JD Vance said Saturday that America's interest "is in not going to war with Iran" and acknowledged that Israel and America's interests will "sometimes" diverge.

"So obviously, Israel has the right to defend itself," Vance told Tim Dillon. "But America's interest is sometimes going to be distinct."

"Sometimes we're going to have overlapping interests and sometimes were going to have distinct interests and our interest, I think, very much is in not going to war with Iran," Vance said. "It would be a huge distraction of resources, it would be massively expensive to our country."

He went on to say that the Israelis and Arab states should "police" Iran with funding from America under the Abraham Accords (a Trump administration program to bribe Arab kings with billions in US taxpayer dollars to normalize relations with Israel).

Vance's rhetoric on Iran has clearly changed markedly from July.

Trump himself has also shifted to more "anti-war" rhetoric as Election Day nears:

Trump this week secured the endorsement of a group of Muslims leaders in Michigan who were angry over Biden and Harris's unconditional support for Israel's genocide in Gaza.

Though both Trump and Vance's rhetoric has shifted, there's little reason to believe they'll do anything differently.

During Joe Rogan's softball interview, Trump said he made a mistake with "some" of his picks (who Rogan -- not Trump -- first said were "neocons") during his presidency but he is still surrounding himself with tons of the same neocons and for months now he has been running on giving the Israel Lobby total power over Congress.

Trump's transition chairman Howard Lutnick told Michael Tracey earlier this month that Jared Kushner will be "actively helping" Trump find "talent" to staff his administration.

Israel First billionaire Democrat Bill Ackman also said his friends would help staff Trump's administration back in June.

Trump ran as an outsider in 2016 and self-financed much of his campaign ($66m), yet he still filled his first administration with Israel First neocons.

This election he's getting $100 million from Miriam Adelson and explicitly telling his Israel First donors he will be their point man in the White House.

Polls show the majority of Americans do not want America to provide Israel with any aid at all for their war on Gaza and yet our will has been completely ignored by both political parties.
