HUNGER GAMES: DHS head Mayorkas shops for luxury items in Georgetown while western North Carolinians suffer post-Helene

There is not enough money (or so they say) to help all the victims of Hurricane Helene, and yet there is more than enough cash in the till to support Department of Homeland Security (DHS) head Alejandro Mayorkas' luxury shopping habit in Georgetown.

Just last week, Mayorkas told reporters that FEMA "does not have the funds" to supply the needs of Americans for the rest of the 2024 hurricane season. Then, just days later, Mayorkas was spotted at a luxury clothier in Georgetown called Sid Mashburn where suit jackets cost as much as $3,000 a piece.

In other words, instead of being in the emergency control room helping with Helene relief, Mayorkas was out shopping. It is the same thing that "Dr." Jill Biden did in Central California a few weeks ago when her security entourage cleared the streets so she could shop until she dropped.

"He's shopping for fancy clothes while people are suffering from hurricane damage," commented Elon Musk on X / Twitter. "This is some Hunger Games ****."

Now Florida faces another major hurricane with Milton

If hurricane season 2024 stopped with Helene, there might be enough cash left at FEMA to help those in need, but now Hurricane Milton is building strength as the Category 5 storm bee-lines towards Tampa.

Between Helene and now Milton, the southeastern United States faces some serious and prolonged devastation less than 30 days before the contentious 2024 election. Will the country even make it to Election Day unscathed?

"They don't care about anything except lining their pockets and those of all who instruct them," one angry commenter wrote about how government officials like Mayorkas could not care less about the millions of Americans whose lives have changed for the worse because of these storms.

"The criminality is so bold and right in your face. It used to be behind the scenes ... not anymore. Where is the breaking point? There isn't one. Look at North Carolina: people suffering, dead bodies in the trees, help being turned away. Is this enough? Nope."

Another commented that what we are witnessing post-Helene "is what neo-feudalism looks like."

"The difference between the life of lords and serfs will become wider than it ever has. Mayorkas is more of a lickspittle and exists on the ground in in-between areas."

"He spent more than FEMA is offering to devastated families," wrote another about Mayorkas' shopping spree costing more than the meager $750 checks that FEMA is offering to Helene victims.

"I just looked at their website. $150 for a belt. Shirts $225+. Jackets $1250+. Shoes $595+. Great look – government employee shopping on Saturday while Hellene [sic] victims are barely surviving and bodies are still being located and identified."

Another joked that this is "retail therapy" for Mayorkas who is under so much stress "flying in all those illegals and ignoring the southern U.S." that he just had to spend thousands of dollars on fancy new clothes.

"Nothing encompasses the ineptitude and elitism of this administration more than the head of FEMA and Border Patrol day shopping in the middle of two disasters."

As with most storms, the federal government is dropping the ball with Helene. Learn more at Corruption.news.
