Attorney Laura Powell (@LauraPowellEsq on X) investigated Kamala's filing in-depth only to discover that deliberate deception was used by the Kamala campaign to siphon Joe Biden's campaign contributions into Kamala's coffers instead.
First off, Kamala used Biden's personal candidate ID number (P80000722) on the form instead of her own (P00009423). Kamala's FEC records also now show up under Biden's personal FEC page rather than her own ever since filing a new Form 2.
"But if you look at the 2024 election cycle, Biden is erased and replaced with Harris, as if he was never running for President," Powell explains.
The Biden campaign's FEC records also now show that they are associated with both Biden and Kamala's candidacies for presidency during the period of 2020-2022. This makes no sense, though, since Kamala's 2020 presidential run was never linked to Biden's – they were competitors at the time – and she did not run a second time until 2024.
"Now Harris's personal FEC candidate ID number (P00009423) – which is supposed to follow her for all Presidential campaigns for life – is somehow linked to Biden's Presidential campaign in 2020," Powell writes. "Only her Vice-Presidential campaign was ever linked to Biden's, but that is separate from any Presidential campaigns."

Is Kamala Harris breaking the law with fraudulent FEC filings?
As of this writing, the official 2023-2024 FEC record for "Biden for President," also known as "Harris for President" (ID No. C00703975), is linked to two different presidential candidates, both of which are named "Kamala Harris."
As Powell explains, the one "Kamala Harris" has her own ID No. of P00009423 while the other "Kamala Harris" has Biden's ID No. of P80000722.
Further, the Statement of Candidacy that Kamala filed on July 29, 2024, using Biden's candidate ID number now shows up under her own candidate ID number, "But last night's filing for that same candidate ... shows up for the other 'Kamala Harris' who is running for President," Powell says – are you confused yet?
The various FEC filings associated with Kamala are nothing short of "convoluted," to use Powell's verbiage. And Powell believes that things will get even more confusing in the future as the FEC will likely "shift these records in the future to make it seem like there aren't so many discrepancies between the names and the ID numbers."
Describing Kamala's filings as "irregular," Powell warns that nothing like this has ever happened before in the history of the United States presidency.
"If Kamala Harris had used her own candidate ID number, like every other candidate in modern history, this wouldn't have been so complicated, but then it would have been difficult to make the case that she's entitled to Biden's war chest," Powell says.
"Undoubtedly, these filings are trying to circumvent those pesky campaign finance laws."
Keep in mind that Tim Walz has no FEC candidate ID number at all because he has never run for president. Even so, the expectation of the Kamala campaign based on its wrangling of FEC law is to entitle him to all of Biden's funding as well, as if candidates for president can simply be replaced on a whim.
"According the logic of Harris's supporters, Walz is equally entitled to any funds from the campaign committee associated with ID number C00703975," Powell says. "And, just as Harris felt entitled to file an amended Statement of Candidacy using Biden’s personal candidate ID number because she was the Vice Presidential candidate, Walz could do the same, using Biden's personal candidate ID number to run for President if he wanted to."
"The Democrats could pass this campaign down in perpetuity, without even obtaining the formal agreement of the prior candidate. This reminds me of a system of government that isn't considered anything like a democracy." If Trump was doing anything remotely like this, he would be skewered.
