Congressional report reveals 99 illegals on TERROR WATCHLIST were released into the U.S. by Biden-Harris government

A new Congressional report has revealed that nearly a hundred illegal immigrants on the terrorist watchlist have been released into the U.S. under the administration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

According to the report, titled "Terror at Our Door: How the Biden-Harris Administration's Open-Borders Policies Undermine National Security and Endanger Americans," U.S. Border Patrol agents encountered approximately 250 illegal immigrants on the terrorist watchlist at the southwest border from fiscal year 2021 to 2023.

Out of 250 suspected terrorists, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) under the current administration has released 99.

These immigrants came from 36 countries known for active terrorist activities, including Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Kyrgyzstan, Mauritania, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Yemen. (Related: CBP declines FOIA request to reveal nationalities of illegal immigrants on the FBI terror watchlist.)

In the current fiscal year 2024, Border Patrol agents encountered tens of thousands of illegal aliens from countries posing potential national security risks, including 2,134 Afghans, 33,347 Chinese nationals, 541 Iranians, 520 Syrians and 3,104 Uzbeks.

In June, eight Tajik nationals with possible ties to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) were arrested in a coordinated law enforcement operation across New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles. They entered the U.S. by using Customs and Border Protection's CBP One app.

The report also revealed that U.S. agents are actively pursuing over 400 illegal immigrants smuggled into the country through an ISIS-affiliated network from Central Asia. These immigrants were not detained as they were not on the terrorism watch list despite the initial vetting process. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has already arrested 150 of the 400 migrants, but the whereabouts of 50 remain unknown.

These immigrants in question are primarily from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia and Russia, countries with known connections to ISIS and its notorious affiliates, including ISIS-Khorasan Province (ISIS-K).

Biden-Harris administration still downplays the national security risks associated with the border crisis

The report also criticizes the national security protocols of the Biden-Harris administration.

It notes instances where immigration judges have granted asylum, bond and other forms of immigration relief to individuals potentially associated with terrorist activities.

For example, the case of Jovokhir Attoev from Uzbekistan and Mohammad Kharwin from Afghanistan, both of whom were on the terror watchlist but lived in the U.S. for extended periods before ICE apprehended them. These illegal immigrants used fake documents to pass border checks and the "catch and release" practice.

In line with this, the House Judiciary Committee and its Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security and Enforcement call for improved screening and vetting procedures and enhanced tracking of individuals.

National security officials have been warning the public about potential terrorist threats, but the Biden-Harris administration continues to downplay the national security risks associated with the border crisis. DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has repeatedly claimed that illegal aliens are adequately screened and that "individuals who pose a threat to national security or public safety are detained."

However, the on-the-ground reality reveals significant and potentially dangerous flaws in the current open border policies.
