Insiders: First Lady Jill Biden LIVID at the idea of VP Harris replacing her husband

First Lady Jill Biden is reportedly livid at the prospect of Vice President (VP) Kamala Harris replacing her husband, President Joe Biden, as the Democratic Party's nominee for the November presidential elections.

Several Democrat insiders disclosed this to the Daily Mail, with one telling the tabloid how "Jill holds grudges." According to the outlet, Joe is stuck between his wife and his VP who are loathing each other. This, observers noted, appears to be the primary reason why Jill won't allow Joe to drop out of the race to give way to Harris.

"She doesn't let things go and she has never forgiven Kamala for comments that some took to be allegations of racism. Jill was trying to stop Kamala joining the Biden ticket in 2020," the source said. "[Jill] has hated [Harris] ever since the school bus thing. But she bit her tongue because [Joe] boxed himself into a corner by saying he would pick a Black woman for his running mate."

A second Democrat insider recounted that the bad blood between Jill and Harris stemmed from a June 2019 incident when the incumbent VP was running against Joe for the Democratic Party's 2020 nomination. The then-U.S. senator for California condemned the Obama-era VP during a televised debate for opposing aspects of mandatory busing for school desegregation.

Harris' remarks incensed Jill so much that the future first lady reportedly expressed her disdain in the most unequivocal terms. "Go f**k yourself," she said of Harris during a conference call with supporters at the time. The relationship between the two women has gone downhill from there, as per the Mail.

The outlet added that analysts now believe that Harris is keeping her distance from Joe amid increasing clamor for the latter to drop out. Meanwhile, Jill has been continuously on the campaign trail.

Kamala's track record far from impressive

If in case Joe yields and drops out of the race, Harris will naturally succeed her, party officials said. Harris' win at the November elections would make her the first female U.S. president. The former attorney general for the Golden State already made the record as the first African-American and Asian to serve on the second-highest position in the land.

But according to Reuters, her three-and-a-half-year tenure at the White House has been characterized by a lackluster start, staff turnover and early policy portfolios including migration from Central America that did not produce major successes. Many insiders and members of the Biden campaign team privately worried Harris was a liability for the campaign.

However, she stepped "forward" on abortion rights last year to gain more attention from young liberal voters. She "is proud to be his running mate and looks forward to serving at his side for four more years," the Biden-Harris campaign told the news outlet.

Despite this, observers still wonder how Harris would fare if she went face-to-face with former President Donald Trump in the November election. A Reuters/Ipsos poll after the June 27 televised debate between Trump and a faltering Biden found Harris and the real estate mogul nearly tied. Forty-two percent of respondents said they backed the incumbent VP, while 43 percent said they backed Trump.

An internal poll shared by the Biden campaign also showed Harris with the same odds as the 81-year-old chief executive when it comes to beating Trump. Forty-five percent of voters say they would pick her, still lower than the 48 percent who said they would vote for the former president.
