STAGED: Biden campaign FED QUESTIONS to media ahead of Biden’s interview, radio hosts reveal
07/12/2024 // Ava Grace // Views

A radio host in Pennsylvania has revealed that the campaign team of President Joe Biden supplied her with questions ahead of the chief executive's appearance on her show.

Andrea Lawful-Sanders, who hosts "The Source" on WURD Radio, disclosed to CNN: "The questions were sent to me for approval, [and] I approved of them."

But she wasn't the only one who revealed this, as Wisconsin radio host Earl Ingram also shared the same. According to Ingram, who hosts "The Earl Ingram Show" on Wisconsin radio network Civic Media, the Biden campaign gave him five "exact questions to ask" ahead of the interview.

"There was no back and forth," he told the Associated Press. "I probably would never have accepted it, but this was an opportunity to talk to the president of the United States."

Lauren Hitt, spokeswoman for the Biden campaign, confirmed the claims of both Lawful-Sanders and Ingram in a statement.

"It is not at all uncommon practice for interviewees to share topics they would prefer. These questions were relevant to news of the day," she said in the statement. "We do not condition interviews on acceptance of these questions, and hosts are always free to ask the questions they think will best inform their listeners"

The revelations came days after Biden's disastrous June 27 presidential debate with his rival, former President Donald Trump, in Atlanta. The president made appearances on radio shows with largely Black audiences in the two states.

But following the revelations of the two radio hosts, Biden's campaign said it will no longer feed media questions ahead of time for future interviews. A source familiar with Biden's booking operation for media outlets remarked: "While interview hosts have always been free to ask whatever questions they please, moving forward we will refrain from offering suggested questions."

Radio show appearances to debunk doubts about Biden only reinforced them

During the June 27 debate with Trump organized by CNN, Biden appeared frail and lost his train of thought on multiple occasions. This poor performance has left some Democrats unsure of his fitness for a second term and his future as the party's candidate. The interviews with Lawful-Sanders and Ingram sought to show Biden's doubters, especially within his own party, that he is mentally and physically able for a reelection campaign and capable of discussing his record and answering questions coherently. But the same gaffes observed in the debate also appeared during these radio shows, further bolstering proof of the president's cognitive decline.

Among other things, the president reportedly described himself as a "Black woman" – forgetting that he is a White male.

"By the way, I'm proud to be, as I said, the first vice president, first Black woman … to serve with a Black president. Proud to be involved [with] the first Black woman on the Supreme Court. There's so much that we can do because … look, we're the United States of America."

According to a survey conducted by Reuters and Ipsos, one in three Democrats believes Biden should quit the race after his debate performance. Some key Democratic donors have reportedly demanded that the incumbent president be replaced on the party's ticket for the 2024 elections. But Biden rejected the possibility of stepping down in a July 5 interview with ABC News, insisting that he was "the most qualified person" to defeat Trump.
