BBC presenter under fire after calling for Biden to MURDER Trump
07/08/2024 // Ramon Tomey // Views

A presenter for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has been slammed over his comments calling for incumbent U.S. President Joe Biden to murder his rival, former U.S. President Donald Trump.

David Aaronovitch, host of "The Briefing Room" at BBC Radio 4, made the remarks in a July 1 post on the X platform. He wrote: "If I was Biden, I'd hurry up and have Trump murdered on the basis that he is a threat to America's security."

Aaronovitch's post came with the #SCOTUS hashtag, which suggested that it was in relation to the U.S. Supreme Court's July 1 ruling on presidential immunity. According to the high court decision, former presidents like Trump have absolute immunity from prosecution for their official acts. However, they can be prosecuted for acts done unofficially. (Related: Supreme Court says Trump, other former presidents immune from criminal prosecution for official acts – but NOT unofficial acts.)

The BBC Radio 4 presenter subsequently became the target of backlash from his fellow journalists and other users on social media. Most of the individuals who responded pointed out Aaronovitch's egregious breach of the broadcaster's rules around employee impartiality. In September of last year, the BBC introduced social media rules for journalists that tightened restrictions on presenters airing political views of their favored party.

Adam Brooks of GB News blasted the "utter scumbag" Aaronovitch, while American journalist Jack Montgomery accused the BBC presenter of having "Trump Derangement Syndrome." Spectator magazine's Steven Barrett meanwhile replied to Aaronovitch's original post with this observation: "'Impartiality' may not be in the best of health at the BBC."

An hour after posting the tweet, Aaronovitch replied to one user that the post was indeed about the 6-3 ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court on presidential immunity. He insisted, however, that the post was "satirical." It was only after 90 minutes that the BBC presenter deleted his post following intense pressure.

"There is now a far-right pile-on suggesting that my tweet about the [U.S.] Supreme Court's ruling on presidential immunity is an incitement to violence, when it's plainly a satire. So I'm deleting it. If nothing else though, it's given me a map of some of the daftest people on this site. Note, by the way, that not one of them has a problem with the ruling itself."

Leftist lesbian also calls for Biden to "blow up" Trump

Aaronovitch, who is based across the pond, is not the only one who has called for Biden to kill Trump. Lesbian leftist Lea DeLaria, who played Caroline "Big Boo" Black in the Netflix series "Orange is the New Black," also joined the chorus of those wanting to murder the former president following the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling.

The lesbian went on an unhinged rant against Trump and begged Biden to kill the real estate mogul as an act of war. DeLaria also compared Trump to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler in the rant, which she shared on her Instagram and TikTok profiles.

"Joe, you're a reasonable man [and] you don't want to do this. But here's the reality: This is a f***ing war … and we are fighting for our f***ing country. These a**holes are going to take it away," she said.

"Joe, you now have the right to take that b***h Trump out. Take him out, Joe. If he was Hitler and this was 1940, would you take him out? Well, he is Hitler and this is 1940. Take him the f**k out! Blow him up, or they'll blow us up."

DeLaria ended her unhinged rant by claiming that Trump and the Republicans "only want power like all tyrants."
