The suspect, 25-year-old Christian Geovanny Inga-Landi, has been charged with predatory sexual assault, first-degree rape, two counts of second-degree kidnapping, two counts of first-degree robbery, second-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse, obstructing governmental administration and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in Kissen Park in Queens on June 13.
According to the videotaped confession of Inga-Landi, he used a "machete-style" blade to attack a 13-year-old boy and girl, who were allegedly having "sexual relations" in the park in broad daylight. He then pulled out a knife he found in the park to threaten the teens, tied them together with a shoelace, stuffed the girl's mouth with a bandana and cut off her shorts and underwear. All while recording himself binding and gagging the young girl.
Inga-Landi confessed that he raped the girl and told them to wait for 20 minutes while he escaped with their phones, which he later threw away. He successfully fled the crime scene.
But with the help of the description given by the two teens – a distinctive boar tattoo on the chest and dental braces – along with the surveillance video on the area and several tips about Inga-Landi's whereabouts to the New York Police Department, the suspect was eventually arrested.
After five days of manhunting, Inga-Landi was recognized by a group of people from a wanted poster. Angela Sauretti, one of the individuals, called 911 while about 10 people swarmed him, tied him up and held him down until police arrived on the scene to arrest him.

The DNA collected from a water bottle at the rape scene matched a sample Inga-Landi provided to immigration authorities in 2021 with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
On the day of his arrest, an ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) in New York City issued an immigration detainer to prevent his release. Criminal Court of the City of New York Supervising Judge Joanne B. Watters ordered him held without bail until his next court date on July 1 during his arraignment. Watters concurred with Assistant District Attorney Kasey Esposito that Inga-Landi posed a flight risk due to his "tenuous" ties to the United States.
"The brazen and brutal nature of this defendant's actions are indicative of someone who does not follow the law, and who has no regard for anybody else, but himself, and he will not return to court," Esposito said.
If convicted, Inga-Landi would face a maximum sentence of 25 years to life.
This incident is not the first time that an illegal migrant has been charged with rape.
Earlier this month, the ICE confirmed the arrest of Yader Alexander Morales-Quevedo, a 24-year-old Guatemalan national who unlawfully crossed the U.S.-Mexico border "on an unknown date at an unknown location without being inspected, admitted or paroled," for sexually assaulting a child in Massachusetts in August 2022. The Bristol County Superior Court arraigned him for raping a child with an additional charge of posing or exhibiting a child in a state of nudity or sexual conduct in January 2023.
Similarly, in February, the Gateway Pundit recounted a similar instance where another Guatemalan national was convicted of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 14 and put behind bars. Just like Morales-Quevedo, this illegal unlawfully entered the U.S. in April 2011 at an unknown location "without being inspected or admitted by a U.S. immigration official." (Related: Illegal alien who entered the country undetected has been arrested, charged with CHILD RAPE in Massachusetts.)
However, the Gloucester District Court ordered his release despite the ICE detainer against him. Agents from ERO Boston reportedly re-arrested the 34-year-old Guatemalan on Feb. 21 as part of ICE’s effort that "focused on the apprehension of unlawfully present non-citizen sex offenders."
And the long list of illegal migrants unlawfully crossing the U.S. border, while committing heinous crimes will continue until the Biden administration acts on their lax border policies.
