"This monumental verdict marks a significant triumph for justice and sets a precedent in the fight against workplace sexual assault," said attorney Gary Dordick, the lawyer representing the plaintiff "Jane Doe."
The victim claimed that although she was a model for several of David's businesses, including Hologram USA, which makes holograms of dead celebrities including Tupac and Michael Jackson, the abuse started in February 2016.
According to the lawsuit, a female colleague warned her about the "alarmingly hostile" workplace revealing that David had forcibly kissed her. Weeks later, Doe rebuffed his attempt to kiss her during a work trip to his private island in Greece. She got fired afterward.
But in 2018, he offered her a job as a brand ambassador for his cannabis manufacturing company, Swiss-X. After agreeing, he reportedly took her back to a hotel room where he persuaded her to sample the product before forcing her to touch his male genitalia. The following April, she was called to a business meeting in a small room where he raped her in front of one of his Doberman pinschers. By then, the mogul had already lost $80 million in a series of judgments for sexual assaults dating back to 2014.

"It's so despicable, the facts of this case," Dordick stated. "He raped my client while on trial in another case."
David already settled two cases out of court in 2016 but was ordered to pay $5 million to former staffer Lauren Reeves who claimed he put his hands on her throat and pushed her chair into a wall. This case also featured references to the "rape room" and her claim that he told her he needed to buy supplies for it. In the most recent case, the court was told that David had the door to his company's human resources department emblazoned with a pornographic image captioned "HER-ASS" and that staff referred darkly to one office at his California HQ as the "rape room."
In April 2019, he was ordered to pay punitive damages of $8 million to a woman who claimed she was sacked after she refused to have sex with him. In September of the same year, the judge declared a mistrial when a jury could not reach an agreement on a claim brought by former FilmOn account executive Elizabeth Taylor.
In December, another jury awarded $58 million to his former production assistant Mahim Khan, who claimed that David had thrust his pelvis into her face and simulated oral sex, rubbed her vagina, frequently grabbed her pelvic area, peppered her with unwanted kisses, given her a lap dance in front of a client and put his hands under her dress to cup her breasts. She testified that at times David would also pull his pants down, grab her by the neck and shove her into his crotch.
David denied all claims of sexual misconduct, saying, "I never touched any of these women." (Related: Tara Reade says DOJ, FBI have been HARASSING HER since she came forward with sexual assault allegation against Joe Biden.)
The billionaire insisted that none of the plaintiffs will ever collect what is due them.
"These people haven't received a penny and never will. Over my dead f------ body," he told The Daily Beast. David disputed that a jury had reached a $900 million decision.
"I don't know where this jury appeared from," he said, arguing that the figure was instead a "proposed" judgment. He claimed he was never invited to the proceedings and that his "due process has been annihilated from the beginning."
He told the news outlet to reach out to one of his former attorneys, Matthew Huzaineh, to corroborate his statements. However, Huzaineh acknowledged that the $900 million decision was real, calling it "judicial extortion" and said the outcome was only reached because the case "wasn't actively defended. The defense table was empty."
Huzaineh added that the plaintiff's attorneys "persuaded the jury that Alki is a billionaire," which led them to impose such a staggeringly high judgment.
After suffering tens of millions of dollars in legal losses, David claimed in 2021 that his persona was a fraud. "These f------ idiots," he said, referring to media outlets that had estimated his net worth. "There are no billions."
Meanwhile, the most recent victim's lawyer Dustin Moaven admitted that collecting may be difficult as the judge in their case is currently on vacation and hasn't yet signed off on the judgment.
"The bigger goal was to get validation and vindication … and we're going to do everything we can to recover," he said. "It's not going to be easy. I don't expect him to send us a check anytime soon."
