Kentucky Rep. Massie calls for all elected officials to disclose their CITIZENSHIP
05/31/2024 // Ramon Tomey // Views

U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) has called for all elected officials to disclose their citizenship status, aiming at those who obtain and keep citizenship in foreign countries.

The congressman expressed this sentiment in a post on X. He wrote: "If we are going to continue to allow U.S. congressmen to acquire and retain citizenship in other countries, they should at least be required to disclose all countries of which they consider themselves to be citizens."

"Massie has long criticized politicians, especially those who have fanatically pro-Zionist views of having dual loyalty," Big League Politics reported. "Such sentiments reflect a growing discontent among younger right-wing electoral constituencies who have grown tired of the Zionist pandering the [Republican Party] establishment engages in."

The congressman's remarks followed a proposal introduced by his two GOP colleagues, Pennsylvania Rep. Guy Reschenthaler and Ohio Rep. Max Miller. The proposal would grant the same employment and economic benefits to Americans who serve in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) as American citizens who are deployed to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Some of these benefits include protections against foreclosure and repossession of rental properties, lowering of interest rates on loans taken out before their service, safeguards from default judgments in legal cases and the granting of employment rights and benefits that U.S. veterans generally receive.

"Massie raises some valid concerns with his tweet. The fact of the matter is that politicians with multiple citizenship will be serving multiple masters, which often goes against the interests of the historic American nation," Big League Politics continued.

"Additionally, when a conflict breaks out, Americans with multiple citizenships who are belligerents in a conflict zone could potentially put the U.S. into a direct conflict that is not in its national interest. Massie's comment should open up serious conversations about the need to ban multiple citizenship and the need to extricate the U.S. from sub-optimal entanglements like the one it has with Israel."

Massie wins Kentucky's GOP primaries despite smear campaign by Zionist AIPAC

According to the Washington Post, roughly 23,380 American citizens are fighting under the Israeli banner. Twenty-one Americans serving in the IDF have been reported to have been killed. But that number is but a minuscule portion of the total number of Palestinians killed by Israel following the Oct. 7 Operation Al-Aqsa Flood – now numbering more than 36,000.

It also followed Massie's victory in the Bluegrass State's GOP primaries on May 21. The incumbent Kentucky congressman cruised to victory in the primaries despite a smear campaign launched by the Zionist American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) against him. The lobbying group reportedly shelled out more than $400,000 to run negative ads in a bid to derail Massie's campaign. The congressman brushed off the campaign against him, which was launched by the AIPAC's political action committee (PAC) United Democracy Project, calling it a "comical waste of political expenditures." He commented: "I'm laughing because it has the same effect as lighting it on fire and burning it. To run ads two years before an election is campaign malpractice."

"There's going to be a lot of people watching these ads, scratching their heads [and] saying, 'Who is Thomas Massie?' And they're not going to remember this in two years if I were to run statewide. It's funny that some outside super-PAC is more convinced I'm going to run statewide than I am."

Massie also reiterated that he votes against sanctions, limitations on free speech, foreign aid and wars – but "the problem is, AIPAC advocates for all of those things." He has even suggested that AIPAC be required to register as a foreign agent since it advocates for a foreign country.
