Deranged Sen. Lindsey Graham suggests Israel should NUKE GAZA to end the war, just like America nuked Japan in World War II

An unhinged Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) has said that Israel should simply nuke Gaza to put an end to the war, just like how the U.S. dropped atomic bombs on Japan during World War II.

Speaking to NBC’s Meet the Press, he said: “When we were faced with destruction as a nation after Pearl Harbor, fighting the Germans and the Japanese, we decided to end the war by the bombing [of] Hiroshima [and] Nagasaki with nuclear weapons. That was the right decision.”

In case he didn’t make it clear what he wants us to do, he added: “Give Israel the bombs they need to end the war. They can’t afford to lose.”

Graham has long been an unabashed Israel supporter and has criticized Biden repeatedly for threatening to withhold weapons from Israel should they carry out a risky military operation in Rafah that would endanger the lives of more than a million Gazan civilians.

However, he’s brought his rhetoric to a whole new level of absurdity by telling host Kristen Welker that Israel would be justified in flattening the Gaza Strip and taking out the 2.2 million Palestinians living there because the U.S. did the same thing to Nagasaki and Hiroshima eight decades ago. Hundreds of thousands of Japanese civilians died from the blasts themselves and the ensuing radiation, but Graham apparently has no problem with this if it furthers his political aims.

Welker then asked him why it was acceptable for President Reagan to withhold certain weapons from Israel when it was at war with Lebanon back in the 1980s but it is not okay for Biden to make a similar threat now.

Graham replied by doubling down on his desire to bomb Gaza, saying: “Can I say this? Why is it OK for America to drop two nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end their existential threat war? Why was it OK for us to do that? I thought it was OK.”

He might have thought it was okay, but historians have long debated whether it was justified and whether Japan would have surrendered either way. Even those who think that bombing Japan was the best solution available at the time to end the war and that it would prevent further casualties would not be likely to say it was “okay” to kill and injure so many innocent civilians and decimate their medical infrastructure so that receiving aid would be impossible.

But Graham almost seems eager to see something like this happen in Gaza. He added: “So, Israel, do whatever you have to do to survive as a Jewish state. Whatever you have to do.”

He then dismissed Welker’s reminder that military tech is far different now than it was back then.

Blinken tells Meet the Press that U.S. is concerned about civilian casualties in Rafah

Secretary of State Antony Blinken also appeared on the program, telling Welker that the Biden administration is opposed to an Israeli military operation in Rafah unless there is a “credible” plan put in place to keep civilians safe. He also expressed their concerns about Israel’s use of bombs with a high payload, continuing the administration’s recent shift away from blindly supporting Israel’s war efforts.

“We have been holding back and we’re in active conversations with Israel about the provision of heavy or high-payload weapons, large bombs, because of the concern that we have about the effect these weapons can have when they’re used in a dense urban environment like Rafah,” he told Welker.

Israeli tanks have already reached some of the residential districts of Rafah as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues to reject the U.S.’s request to hold off on carrying out a full-scale attack there given the potential for extensive civilian casualties.
