The real estate mogul took to Truth Social to issue his denouncement of the lawmaker, writing on April 8: "Graham is doing a great disservice to the Republican Party and to our country. At first, he wanted no abortions under any circumstances; then he was up to six weeks where you're allowed abortion. Now he's up to 15 weeks where you're allowed abortion."
"What he doesn't understand – or perhaps he does – is that radical Left Democrats who are destroying our country will never approve anything that he or the Republicans want. They love this issue and they want to keep it going for as long as Republicans will allow them to do so."
Trump ultimately remarked that "people like Graham … are handing Democrats their dream of the House [of Representatives], Senate and perhaps even the presidency. We cannot let our country suffer any further damage by losing elections on an issue that should always have been decided by the states."
Not contented with his remarks, Trump followed up his verbal thrashing of the senator for the Palmetto State in succeeding posts. "I blame myself for Graham because the only reason he won in the great state of South Carolina is because I endorsed him," he lamented.
The former president also challenged Graham and Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the pro-life Susan B. Anthony Foundation, to "study the Tenth Amendment and state's rights." He continued: "When they do, they should proudly get on with helping Republicans to win elections, rather than making it impossible for them to do so."

Trump's public rebuke of Graham stemmed from the senator's disagreement with him over the matter of infanticide. The lawmaker wrote on X: "I respectfully disagree with [former] President Trump's statement that abortion is a states' rights issue. Dobbs [v. Jackson] does not require that conclusion legally, and the pro-life movement has always been about the well-being of the unborn child – not geography."
The South Carolina senator's disagreement was in response to a message by Trump about his abortion policy. The former president's policy on the matter, according to InfoWars, was letting "the will of the people" to prevail.
"My view is now that we have abortion where everybody wanted it from a legal standpoint, the states will determine [it] by vote or legislation, or perhaps both. Whatever they decide must be the law of the land – in this case, the law of the state. Many states will be different, many will have a different number of weeks or some will have more conservative [stances] than others, and that's what they will be," said Trump.
"At the end of the day, this is all about the will of the people. You must follow your heart or, in many cases, your religion or your faith. Do what's right for your family and do what's right for yourself. Do what's right for your children. Do what's right for your country."
In 2022, the Supreme Court overturned the Roe v. Wade ruling that codified abortion at the federal level 49 years after it was first issued. While many Democrats have denounced the overturn as a ban on abortion, what the move did was essentially return the issue of abortion to the individual states. Some red states issued outright abortion bans, while some blue states proudly advertised themselves as "abortion sanctuaries." (Related: Pro-abortion VP Kamala Harris blames Trump for Roe v.
