According to Diamond, he realized that a communist infiltration was going on in America when he began studying the historical foundations for the separation of church and state. He noticed the phrase in the Soviet Union's 1936 Constitution, and noted that the U.S. Constitution's First Amendment interprets it in the manner presently seen.
"I realized the first kind of salvo, the first real major attack on Americanism and American Christianity was the attack on the public schools," Diamond said. Meanwhile, Behling – the author of "Beneath Sheep's Clothing" – said the documentary based on her book tackled the communist takeover of education in America.
The author and former missionary mentioned that she interviewed two people who both grew up in the Soviet Union for the documentary. One was a regular Soviet citizen, while the other was a Christian dissident who had experienced different kinds of oppression.
"They were willing to do anything and sacrifice anything in order to live according to their faith," said Behling. "We're talking life, limb and everything they were willing to risk."
She also recommended her documentary for parents whose children are still studying. They can examine the documentary and the American education at large to understand that something is wrong, she said.
Diamond ultimately exhorted the American people to take over education as the public schools are "too far gone and cannot be saved." According to Diamond, only the Christian church has the power, authority and wisdom to turn things around – given that it is the only institution that politically and ideologically identifies with the Founding Fathers.
"So if we want this nation to be returned to Americanism, we're not going to have to let the enemies kick God, prayer, the Bible and everything out of every aspect of society," the theologian said. "It wasn't like that first 250 years … of this nation. [It was only] into the 1960s, really, that this started to take place." (Related: Public schools are collapsing fast as teacher says they are now indoctrination centers, not places of education.)
According to Behling, colleges of education fell to communism in the 1990s – resulting in "mis-educated" American teachers. Before, teachers had great freedom to create their own curricula. But following the takeover, teachers were forced to follow the mandated curricula from the top down.
"It's chosen for them [by] the federal government, the United Nations, … and then the states also. The social and emotional learning (SEL) is a big one," she said.
Behling revealed that the SEL curricula, especially the transformative variety in most American schools, were created by people who have a Marxist understanding that sought to infuse diversity, equity and inclusion into children.
The concept of equity is explicitly communist, in contrast to diversity and inclusion. However, the way the latter two are implemented by Marxists have opposite effect of what they aim for. Behling ultimately pointed out that woke Marxism is being put in place to remove Judeo-Christian ethics as the foundational ideology of American children.
Moreover, Diamond mentioned how communists have infiltrated both the churches and the seminaries a long time ago. Given this, he said the government's goal now is to convert Christians and Christian children into atheists, homosexuals and communists. The "America Unhinged" host ultimately remarked that Americans need to understand that a war is being waged in their schools, churches and government.
