Israel reportedly in talks with African nations to receive Palestinians from Gaza in exchange for aid

Israel is reportedly in talks with the African nations of Rwanda, Chad and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to receive thousands of Palestinians who have been pushed out of the Gaza Strip by Israeli aggression.

This is according to two separate reports made by Hebrew-language Israeli news site Zman Yisrael on Wednesday and Friday, Jan. 3 and 5, respectively. (Related: Israeli developer planning "dream" beachfront villas in Gaza Strip, once millions of Palestinians are eliminated.)

According to the outlet, Israel's national intelligence agency, Mossad, is spearheading the ethnic cleansing effort with the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Zman Yisrael reported that Mossad and the Foreign Ministry were able to get the three African nations to sign on to a basic agreement to at least continue negotiations. Many other nations approached by Israel have refused in principle.

"The business is very complex," said one official who spoke on condition of anonymity with Zman Yisrael. "We must promote this channel, but be very careful of the reactions in the world and also of the fear that it will be interpreted as a transfer and not a voluntary migration. That's why we work with close legal advice."

The basic outline of the proposal would be for Israel to provide partner nations with extensive aid, including military aid, and for Palestinians who agree to "voluntarily" leave Gaza to also receive generous financial grants.

African nations deny negotiations to receive Palestinian refugees following U.S. condemnation

Uncharacteristically, the United States has reacted quickly to the news by releasing a statement rejecting the plan. The U.S.'s condemnation reportedly comes after two extremist members of the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, expressed their support for ethnically cleansing Gaza of Palestinians.

"The United States rejects recent statements from Israeli ministers Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir advocating for the resettlement of Palestinians outside Gaza," said State Department spokesman Matthew Miller. "This rhetoric is inflammatory and irresponsible."

Rwanda, Congo and the DRC have also denied participating in talks with Israel to welcome "voluntary" Palestinian migrants.

Congolese government spokesperson Patric Muyaya said there has "never been any form of negotiation, discussion or initiative" between Kinshasa and Tel Aviv.

Rwanda's Foreign Ministry called Zman Yisrael's report "disinformation," and said that the possibility of transferring Palestinians from Gaza to Rwanda is "completely false."

"No such discussion has taken place either now or in the past, and the disinformation should be ignored," said the ministry.

Chadian transitional government spokesperson Abderaman Koulamallah "categorically denied" the allegation that it was working with Israel to send "thousands of Palestinians from Gaza" to Chad.

"Chad reaffirms its constant position in favor of the peaceful coexistence of two states, in compliance with international law," said Koulamallah. "We have always supported a lasting ceasefire and the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, in accordance with international standards."

Despite these denials, Zman Yisrael has insisted that the extremist government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is aware of these negotiations and is not stopping them. Danny Danon, a member of the Knesset, and a high-ranking official within Netanyahu's extremist party, Likud, has reportedly been raising the issue of "voluntary" migration during Likud meetings.

Zman Yisrael noted that Netanyahu has supported the idea and all he needs is to find countries willing to take in Palestinians.
