He began the letter by stating he is aware that the airline has been “transporting nonresident aliens from the southern border of the United States into the interior of the country” and asking what type of arrangements are in place with NGOs and federal agencies allowing these individuals to travel on Delta flights.
“As you are likely aware, certain NGOs receive federal grants, including through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Emergency Food and Shelter Program and Shelter and Services Program, making it possible that these NGOs are using federal money to purchase flights for non-resident aliens on Delta Air Lines,” he stated.
What makes the situation particularly dangerous is the fact that many of these illegals have not been properly vetted. In some cases, they are not being held to the same standards of identification as Americans, which means that no one knows who is truly boarding these flights, putting us at risk of allowing terrorists onto American planes and putting citizens in danger – and we are apparently the ones footing the bill for these flights.
The inquiry comes as numerous reports show flights packed with illegal immigrants. Conservative commentator Ashley St. Clair said she was on a Delta flight from Phoenix that was full of migrants who had crossed the border and were being sent to New York; a Delta representative brushed off her questions about it. She said she was seated in a premium cabin next to one such passenger and wondered if they had been medically screened. Other reporters have had similar experiences flying on planes with illegal immigrants CBP is releasing into the country.
Tenet Media Reporter Taylor Hansen said that when flying out of Laredo, Texas, "almost every person in the airport is an illegal migrant." Hansen added that a representative for American Airlines told him that more illegal immigrants fly out of the airport there each day than American citizens.
A reporter for Fox News, Bill Melugin, posted a photo on X of illegal immigrants in dedicated security lines at the Tucson airport, saying the terminal was full of illegal immigrants being released into the U.S.
Migrants flying with boarding passes without names
St. Clair shared on X that she had "possession of legitimate major airline boarding passes for migrants that quite literally have the name printed as 'NO NAME GIVEN.'" The Epoch Times confirmed seeing boarding passes with “NO NAME GIVEN” dated in April, which means that this alarming practice has been going on for at least several months.
Gaetz noted in his letter: “I am concerned the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) may be allowing non-resident aliens to board flights, including those operated by Delta Airlines, with an alternate form of identification that meets a weaker standard than that used to verify the identities of American citizens.”
He asked the Delta CEO to disclose how many nonresident aliens they have transported since January 20, 2021, on behalf of NGOs and governmental organizations and whether the company has been given any incentives or reimbursement such as money, credit, or governmental benefits in exchange for transporting nonresident aliens. He also asked for information about how NGOs purchase tickets with Delta for non-resident aliens.
In addition, Gaetz asked for clarification on whether the TSA has notified Bastian of which forms of identification nonresident aliens can use to get through airport security and board their flights.
