Breitbart reported on the younger Soros' multiple meetings at the White House in a July 9 piece. The logs revealed that Alex, George's eldest son with former wife and historian Susan Webster, met with Biden administration officials 20 times. The younger Soros even attended a state dinner for French President Emmanuel Macron, which had U.S. President Joe Biden in attendance.
Based on the logs, Alex reportedly met with Principal Deputy National Security Adviser Jon Finer six times between December 2021 and March 2023. He also met with Hazel Castillo, staff assistant to Finer, in April 2022.
The younger Soros met with Mariana Adame, an advisor to Presidential Counselor Steve Ricchetti, three times during that period. Alex also met with Nina Srivastava, an advisor to former White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain, three times. Logs also revealed two instances of him having a meeting with the two advisors twice on the same day. (Related: Son of George Soros scoring easy White House access, records show.)
Moreover, Alex has met with other notable officials such as National Security Council Senior Director for Europe Amanda Sloat and Kimberly Lang, executive assistant to National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.
"While it is unknown what was discussed in these meetings, the fact that they involve so many national security officials at a time when the Biden administration is heavily focused on the war in Ukraine may offer a clue," wrote Rebecca Mansour, Breitbart's senior editor-at-large.
Speaking to the Washington Post (WaPo), European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) Director Mark Leonard said the Russia-Ukraine war is a key focus for the younger Soros. According to him, Alex is "in daily contact" with the Open Society Foundation (OSF) in Ukraine and is "talking to different governments about their policy toward Ukraine."
According to WaPo, OSF "describes itself as the largest independent funder of Ukrainian civil society and citizen groups for more than three decades." OSF, which was established by the elder Soros in 1993, also funds the ECFR.
Mansour noted, however, that the younger Soros' meetings with Adame might have to do with his potential involvement in the 2024 presidential elections. Adame works under Ricchetti, a longtime Biden loyalist and former K Street lobbyist. The presidential counselor chaired Biden's 2020 campaign and was instrumental in helping the incumbent secure big campaign donations from Wall Street financiers.
The 37-year-old Alex assumed the OSF's leadership in December 2022, when its board elected him to replace his father George as chairman. Since 2021, the younger Soros has served as the president of the super political action committee (PAC) called Democracy PAC.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Alex said he and George "think alike," although he is "more political" than his father. He also expressed particular interest in American political causes involving "voting and abortion rights, as well as gender equity."
Alex's strong Democratic leanings are visible on his social media profiles. His Instagram regularly features various Congressional Democrats such as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York and Sen. Raphael Warnock of Georgia.
The WSJ also noted that the younger Soros seeks to stop former President Donald Trump from returning to the White House after the 2024 elections. To this end, he appears to be willing to use the considerable financial resources at his disposal. Alex told the outlet: "As much as I would love to get money out of politics, as long as the other side is doing it, we will have to do it, too."
