FBI offers reward for Jane’s Revenge extremists responsible for violent threats against Nebraska pro-lifers

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has offered a reward to individuals with any information about the violent threats issued by extremist group Jane's Revenge against pro-life advocates in Nebraska.

According to the Nebraska Examiner, the FBI Field Office in Omaha, Nebraska made the offer in a press release. It urged those with information about the culprits to submit tips via telephone call or online, with tipsters having the option to remain anonymous. Up to $15,000 will be given out by the federal law enforcement agency.

The FBI recounted that in December 2022, a threatening note was posted at the door of the St. John Paul II Newman Center at the University of Nebraska Omaha. It warned: "If our right to abortion in Bellevue is taken away due to the attempt to pass an abortion ban and it gets passed, we will shoot up your Newman Center with our new AR14 rifles."

A similar note was taped to the door of the Christ Community Church, also located in the city, carrying the same warning. Both the threats at the center and the church were signed: "Sincerely, Jane's Revenge."

According to the Examiner, FBI agents are also looking for a vehicle in connection with the threats. The said vehicle was a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck in either tan or silver color, with a model between 1998 and 2004. It also noted that "there was no explanation in the news release from the FBI about why a reward was being offered" six months after the threats were posted.

Pro-life group Live Action recounted the moment when the threat was discovered at the Newman Center. A member of the Students For Life of America (SFLA) reportedly found the note when the group arrived to hold a political leadership at the venue.

SFLA President Kristan Hawkins wrote in a Facebook post at that time: "When we arrived, a death threat via guns from Jane's Revenge was posted on the door." She added that her team then "called the police" and began "scrambling to find a hotel or other paid location that will be safe to still host the event."

Hawkins warned that pro-lifers "are headed toward tragedy" if Attorney General Merrick Garland, who heads the Department of Justice, refuses to lift a finger to protect peaceful pro-lifers from extremist groups like Jane's Revenge. Jane's Revenge has a history of targeting pregnancy centers

Jane's Revenge, which first emerged amid the overturn of the Roe v. Wade ruling in June 2022, had previously targeted pregnancy centers across the country.

A month before the ruling's overturn, the group firebombed and vandalized the office of pro-life group Wisconsin Family Action (WFA) in Madison, Wisconsin. Unknown assailants broke into the WFA office during the early hours of May 8, 2022 and threw at least two Molotov cocktails inside, damaging the interior. They also scrawled graffiti on the office's outside wall, including the message "If abortion isn't safe, then you aren't either."

Jane's Revenge also firebombed a pregnancy center in New York state in June 2022. Molotov cocktails were lobbed at the Buffalo office of CompassCare, shattering glass panels and burning the interiors. The perpetrators also sprayed the message "Jane was here" on the side of the building's wall.

In April 2023, Jane's Revenge vandalized the Bowling Green Pregnancy Center in Bowling Green, Ohio that was operated by HerChoice. Security footage captured the lone suspect spray-painting the east wall of the clinic and a glass panel beside it with messages such as "fund abortion" and "abort God." Fortunately, the demeaning messages were cleaned up with the help of some college students and members of the local Knights of Columbus council.
