Jeep went “woke,” abandoning quality control in favor of virtue signaling, and now its vehicles are spontaneously catching fire – even when they’re not running
05/19/2023 // Ethan Huff // Views

Multinational automobile manufacturer Stellantis has issued a recall on nearly 220,000 Jeep Cherokee SUV models that are reportedly catching fire spontaneously, even when their engines are off.

Owners of certain Cherokee models manufactured between 2014 and 2016 will want to park them outdoors far away from the home and other vehicles, the company warned this week, because their power liftgates could spontaneously combust.

The issue stems from a breach in the liftgate control computer system that allows water to enter, frying the board and causing an electrical short that could result in the entire back end bursting into flames.

As of this writing, Jeep has not yet developed a fix to address the problem. The company has apparently been too busy going "woke" to focus on things like quality control and protecting its customers from burning to death in a potential fiery inferno.

Jeep does not yet have a fix for its faulty liftgate computers – but you can still get a "rainbow pride" Jeep mug or "love is love" tote bag

A similar problem was identified back in 2015 on some Jeep models, though Stellantis was able to come up with a fix for that one. If the company can refocus its efforts away from releasing "rainbow pride" merchandise and spend more time on product safety, then perhaps it can do the same for this latest mechanical issue.

Beginning on June 30, customers who own affected Jeep models bearing faulty liftgate computers will receive an official notification letter in the mail about the recall.

The company says it first became aware of the issue through data released by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration showing that at least 50 customers have had their Jeeps catch fire. Of these, there were 23 warranty claims for a fix and 21 field reports.

Stellantis says it is unaware of any injuries stemming from the problem. It also revealed that some customers' Jeeps could experience a power failure in their liftgates before the SUV is even able to catch fire, which is a best-case scenario.

Despite all this, Jeep continues to offer rainbow pride-themed mugs and beer koozies, "love is love" tote bags, and other woke gear to its customers.

"These are just a few of their new Jeep logo merchandise items," someone in a forum wrote about Jeep's cringeworthy woke merchandising efforts. "I guess they want to appeal to a more diverse market but Jeep lovers don't need rainbow colors to be interested in Jeep merchandise."

"Going after the 1% they will lose a bigger percent," said someone else about Jeep's misplaced priorities.

"Why do some gay folks boast about being gay?" asked another, confused about why LGBTs are obsessed with constantly shoving their sexual deviancy in everyone's faces.

Then there was Jeep's infamous Bruce Springsteen commercial that aired during the 2021 Super Bowl, which was a big flop.

In the commercial, Springsteen, a known leftist, tried to bring both sides of the political aisle to "the middle" following the so-called "insurrection" at the United States Capitol. Both Democrats and Republicans were upset about the ad.

Democrats said there was simply no reconciling the Capitol invasion without "punishment" while Republicans chastised Jeep for making light of the stolen 2020 election, which was robbed from Donald Trump and handed over to Joe Biden.

Perhaps Jeep should spend a lot more time refining the quality of its vehicles rather than entering the fray of politics and LGBT issue. Perhaps all companies that hope to survive should take this same approach.
