Case in point: Now, according to one leftist regional prime minister, Germans who rightfully complain about the country's pitiful, nonsensical energy policies are the second coming of the 'Third Reich.'
Bodo Ramelow, the Prime Minister of Thuringia who is a member of the far-left Die Linke party, did his best impression of a U.S. Democratic Party member in his attack on "right-wing extremists" who he claims are using rising energy costs to launch another Nazi Party, calling such complaints the beginnings of a new “fascist movement” in Germany, Breitbart News reported.
The outlet added:
It comes as other politicians and officials in the country blame right-wing extremism for growing political unrest in the country, which appears to be in reality driven by the country’s energy and cost of living crisis, itself the creation of years of political mismanagement at the hands of the German elite.
With those looking to protest the current German government being previously slammed as “enemies of the state," Ramelow has now taken to comparing protesters to a new “fascist movement."
According to a report by Die Zeit, the leftist official compared protesters to the anti-Islamism Pegida movement, which had its heyday in Germany back in 2015 and 2016, but has largely since fallen into obscurity.
“A new Pegida is emerging,” the paper quoted him as saying in response to a recent energy protest, which involved around 36,000 people taking to the streets just in his state.
“Everything that somehow belongs to the right-wing spectrum gathered there, reaching down to the deepest right-wing extremist milieu,” he continued, with the outlet further quoting him as claiming that “the formation of a new publicly visible fascist movement” is now emerging.
Never mind that German overreliance on Russian gas and insufficient 'green' energy has caused the current energy crisis.
Those taking the German government to task over the ongoing gas crisis have been branded the “new enemies of the state” by one government minister in the country.https://t.co/O1DNe8KJdF

Breitbart News added another perspective to Ramelow's remarks: "Although Remlow’s invocation of fascism perhaps marks a new high in the anti-right hysteria plaguing German politics in recent months, the leftist minister’s statements appear to be merely the latest attempt by the country’s political mainstream to curtail populism, or even just common concern about the government’s long-term mismanagement."
That rings true in the United States as well, with left-wing Democrats and our own president seeking to demonize "MAGA Republicans" -- Americans who support Donald Trump or Trump's 'America First' agenda -- as domestic terrorist threats, regardless of what conservatives are 'protesting' (high inflation, gas prices, food prices, a porous southwestern border, etc.).
Biden himself made that patently clear during a speech earlier this fall using a red background at Independence Hall while flanked by a pair of U.S. Marines.
“We must be honest with each other and with ourselves,” Biden said during the speech early last month. “Too much of what’s happening in our country today is not normal. Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.”
“MAGA Republicans do not respect the Constitution,” he claimed without context or explanation. “They do not believe in the rule of law. They do not recognize the will of the people. They refuse to accept the results of a free election.”
“And they’re working right now, as I speak in state after state, to give the power to decide elections in America to partisans and cronies, empowering election deniers to undermine democracy itself,” Biden continued.
“MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards. Backwards to an America where there is no right to choose, no right to privacy, no right to contraception, no right to marry who you love. They promote authoritarian leaders and they fan the flames of political violence that are a threat to our personal rights, to the pursuit of justice, to the rule of law, to the very soul of this country,” the president said.
Democrats are trying to goad the country into civil war.
