"SARS-CoV-2 was made in a laboratory in China as part of its biowarfare program," he said in a Substack article. "Two years after the start of the pandemic, no natural source of SARS-CoV-2 has been identified. In contrast, structures within the virus itself have been identified that prove its laboratory origin."
Sellin, who has been investigating SARS-CoV-2's origins of this virus since the pandemic's onset, detailed his findings during a symposium in the Netherlands. His presentation debunked the narrative that COVID-19 originated in the Huanan Seafood Market, jumping via natural transmission from animals to humans.
Of 80,000 animal samples from the market that were tested, not one carried the pathogen. Tests on human samples did not show the earliest strain of the virus. Records attested to the latter, showing that the earliest COVID-19 patients did not visit the market at all.
Sellin also projected heat maps that showed the first cases as being located on the other side of the Yangtze River, far from the Wuhan market. He pointed out that the cases were located in the Wuchang district, home to three coronavirus research centers. These facilities include the non-human primate testing facility at Wuhan University, the PLA Hospital and the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV). (Related: High-ranking CCP defector claims to have "direct knowledge" of Chinese special weapons programs, including biological weapons like SARS-CoV-2.)
He added that SARS-CoV-2 "possesses a number of unusual structural features," suggesting that the pathogen originated from a laboratory. The SARS-CoV-2's spike protein has unique components that are not a consequence of a normal evolutionary process in viruses.
Sellin also found connections between infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci and Ralph Baric of the University of North Carolina. Baric signed a Dec. 12, 2019 agreement stating that he would review the "mRNA coronavirus vaccine candidates developed and jointly-owned by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and Moderna."
"Baric is a long-time coronavirus researcher with close ties [to] the WIV," said a report by the Gateway Pundit, adding that he would be the "logical person to test the efficacy of an mRNA vaccine." According to Sellin, information in Moderna's vaccine patent could have been used in the laboratory creation of SARS-CoV-2 based on interactions between Fauci, Baric, Moderna and scientists in China.
Sellin also revealed another smoking gun: A 2018 research grant application filed with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) under the Department of Defense revealed the "de facto scientific recipe" to create SARS-CoV-2 in a laboratory.
The grant application title "Project DEFUSE: Defusing the Threat of Bat-borne Coronaviruses" was submitted by Peter Daszak of the EcoHealth Alliance together with several co-applicants. These included the so-called "bat woman" of the WIV, Dr. Shi Zhengli, Duke-NUS Medical School scientist Linfa Wang and Baric himself.
DARPA rejected the grant because it involved dangerous "gain of function" experiments that created new human-infecting viruses. Gain of function happens when a naturally-occurring virus is genetically or otherwise manipulated to make it either more contagious, more lethal or both. Because of this, the research had the clear potential for dual use within a bioweapons development program.
"DARPA, however, left the door open for partial funding and it is very likely that experiments were already underway in the laboratories of the principal investigators at the time the application was submitted," Sellin said.
