A new kind of rationing: Amazon to launch “invite only” ordering for high-demand products, meaning you now have to “qualify” just to buy
06/06/2022 // Ethan Huff // Views

As consumer products become increasingly less available due to ongoing supply chain problems, online retail behemoth Amazon has decided to launch a new invite-based ordering system to help ration high-demand, low-supply products.

The company says it is starting with well-known low-inventory products such as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X gaming consoles. Over time, however, other products will be included in the open-ended system, which will select which users are allowed to buy them by sending them private invites.

In order to prevent inventory shortages and price gouging, Amazon says its new invite only ordering platform is a necessity.

"We work hard every day to provide customers with low prices, vast selection, and fast delivery," Llew Mason, vice president of consumer engagement at Amazon, told TechCrunch in a statement.

"This includes developing a shopping experience where customers can purchase the items they're interested in without having to worry about bad actors buying and reselling them at a much higher price."

Will Amazon start discriminating against its politically incorrect customers?

Amazon customers will be able to request an invite for high-demand items right from the product detail page, but there is no guarantee that they will be selected, especially if they hold politically incorrect views that can be traced to their user accounts.

The reason we say this is that Amazon has been on a book burning craze as of late, so we would not put it past the company to selectively ration products only to customers that hold politically correct views.

This is the future of tech fascism, by the way: Only those who toe the line in supporting LGBTQ, for instance, or who support Ukraine and NATO, will be allowed to make purchases while the rest will never receive that special invite to buy goods from Amazon.

At the current time, any customer with an Amazon account, including those who do not have Prime memberships, can request an invite. Whether that invite gets granted without prejudice at the current time is unknown.

An image provided by Amazon to the media shows that items deemed to be in high demand with low inventory will have an "available by invitation" button on their respective pages. There will also be a note explaining that Amazon "won't be able to grant all requests."

All bot-like submissions will be removed by Amazon as part of a new verification program for "genuine customers." The company will accomplish this by looking at each account's prior purchase history and when his or her account was first created.

"If the customer's invitation to purchase is granted, they will receive an email with instructions on how to purchase the item," TechCrunch explains.

It all sounds very subjective to some. Who is to say how Amazon will determine which accounts are "bots" and which are real people? Will the company look at a customer's purchase history and discriminate against it if, say, a book was purchased about the dangers of going transgender?

"Communist Bolsheviks never have enough until they have theirs, yours, and everyone else's," wrote a reader at Natural News about the mindset behind a far-left corporation like Amazon that seeks to gobble up everything and then some, attaining full control over the consumer markets.

"I sometimes use Amazon as a search engine for things and then buy them elsewhere," wrote another, offering a helpful tip for others. "I have not bought one single thing from Amazon. I don't like the actions of the bald dude masquerading as the owner."
