His Wednesday tweet stated that no longer supports Democrat politicians, and that they have become the "party of division and hate." Instead, he wrote that he would be voting Republican.
"Now, watch their dirty tricks campaign against me unfold," Musk added. Musk expressed similar sentiments in another Wednesday tweet, writing, "Political attacks on me will escalate dramatically in coming months. "On Tuesday, Musk voiced a similar sentiment to listeners of the All-In podcast, saying that, for the first time, he is going to break with his previous loyalties to the Democrats and vote Republican.
"This administration doesn't seem to get a lot done," Musk said at the time. "The Trump administration, leaving Trump aside, there were a lot of people in the administration who were effective at getting things done." In another thread of tweets published on Thursday, Musk lamented at the fact that most Americans want a political party that's "moderate on all issues," but that "unfortunately it's not realistic."
