According to reports last week, the Department of Homeland Security is set to establish what it calls a "Disinformation Governance Board" which will “coordinate countering misinformation related to homeland security” focusing “on irregular migration and Russia,” Politico noted, adding that Nina Jankowicz – whose career has focused largely on partisan hackery as well as advising foreign governments and not news reporting – will serve as its first executive director.
The National Pulse provided more details on her background:
While participating in U.S. Congressional hearings, Jankowicz dismissed documented links between Ukrainian energy company Burisma and the Biden family, while calling for an increase in federally-funded media outlets and an “oversight” agency of social media platforms.
She described the well-documented business ties between the first son and Burisma as “perhaps the most well-known example of information laundering” and “unsubstantiated and misleading.”
Jankowicz is a former “disinformation fellow” at the partly government-funded Wilson Center, and even advised the Ukrainian government as recently as 2016.
Also, she has repeatedly addressed Hunter Biden's revealing hard drive on Twitter where she also expressed her approval of the censoring of incredibly damning -- and true -- stories detailing the first son's business deals with foreign countries including Ukraine, Russia, and China business deals from which he indicated that his father gets a financial cut.
“Surprised (but pleased) to see this,” she tweeted in response to a statement from Andy Stone, Facebook’s Policy Communications Director, in which he described how the platform would follow Twitter’s lead in censoring The New York Post’s original reporting regarding Hunter's laptop.

In response to a tweet that has since been deleted, Jankowicz compared the story of the origins of Hunter Biden's hard drive, which came from a computer repair shop in Delaware, to a "fairy tale."
“Not to mention that the emails don’t need to be altered to be part of an influence campaign. Voters deserve that context, not a fairly tale about a laptop repair shop,” she wrote on October 22nd, 2020.

Lawmakers are already sounding the alarm about her and about Biden's new "ministry of truth."
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) has sponsored legislation to defund the new board before it even gets off the ground.
Calling it a “hill to die on,” Boebert is leading a legislative effort to stop the new agency before it starts, ensuring that the Executive Branch does not get to define for the American people what ‘truth’ is.
“This kind of stuff is terrifying. We in Congress have the power of the purse. It is our duty to shut down this department immediately,” Boebert told Fox News Digital Friday in an interview. “I’m calling on leadership in the Republican Party — Leader [Kevin] McCarthy, Whip [Steve] Scalise and others — to join me in calling for this department to be shut down and defunded.”
In a tweet Friday she noted: “I don’t think people are fully understanding the severity of what a Ministry of Truth organized by DHS truly means. This is Stalin level. This is Mao level. This is the hill to die on.”
