"Our good friend, George Barna, has done some very in-depth research where he doesn't just ask questions, but he actually takes professing Christians and gives them an exam where they answer these questions and then they can determine what their biblical worldview score really is. Now he did an in-depth study back in 2004 and found that among Bible-believing Christians only nine percent of those surveyed had a biblical worldview," Blair told Dr. John Diamond during the May 9 episode of "America Unhinged" on Brighteon.TV.
"And they redid that test a year ago and found that only six percent of those surveyed had a biblical worldview. So these are people that can answer the questions and say, 'Yes, I've trusted Jesus as my Savior and Lord,' but only six percent of them have a biblical worldview when it comes to economics, civil government and other things."
The senior pastor of Fairview Baptist Church in Edmond, Oklahoma said that the Christian church has faltered in making disciples and teaching believers to observe all of the Lord Jesus' teachings.
"We have adopted a form of gnostic Christianity in America. And our pastors are guilty of this because this is what they're taught in seminary. We have Sunday morning Christians. We go to church on Sunday morning and we're Christians on Sunday morning but we don't let Christianity spill over into the rest of our week," said Blair, a former draft pick of the Chicago Bears in the National Football League.
Blair, who established the Liberty Church of Orlando in 2019, said that Christian believers are supposed to be making disciples and should be Christ's followers in their families and business practices.
The well-known speaker and president of Reclaiming American for Christ noted that American Christians are the only Christians that haven't been persecuted for their faith in its 2,000 years of history.
"We have been the most prosperous and enjoyed both civil liberty and religious liberty. And because we're not smart enough here in America and because we've never been taught true history, we don't see how our faith enters the web and dissects with history. We don't understand what happens when biblical principles are applied versus when they're not applied. And we're [at] risk of losing this for our next generation," Blair said.
Blair, who is also the founder of the Liberty Pastors Network and Liberty Pastor Training Camps, took note that pastors agreed it was okay to preach or talk about any relevant topics in church except the government, because it involves politics and the idea of separation of church and state. He said this was inconsistent and insane because God established the government.
He pointed out that pastors are supposed to be experts on all things about God and the Bible, noting that pastors were considered political experts in the past.
Diamond agreed, saying that most American states were started by a pastor or a congregation. He also cited that every institution of higher learning that existed in the early colonies was a Christian institution. "So if you got out of your one-room schoolhouse where the Bible was taught and you went into an institution of higher learning, it didn't matter what your occupation was. You were taught, you were given a biblical worldview, whether you are a doctor, a journalist, a politician, a school teacher, it didn't matter. And that's why we had such unity in the early colonies because we all had the Bible as the Rock that the Republic was built on," the veteran theologian added.
