An Instagram account bearing Reinoehl's name has been discovered, and it shows him participating in many riots in Portland over the summer. In one post, dated June 16, he wrote: “I am 100% ANTIFA all the way! I am willing to fight for my brothers and sisters! We do not want violence but we will not run from it either! If the police continue to pick on and beat up innocent citizens that are peacefully voicing their objections, it must be met with equal force!”
Portland Police Bureau (PPB) Chief Chuck Lovell said that the investigation into Reinoehl's involvement in the brutal murder is still ongoing, and so not much information can be released to the public at this time.
On Sunday, the day after the incident, Reinoehl's sister was awoken by angry and concerned calls and messages from friends, family and strangers alike after footage of the fatal shooting started circulating all over social media. Many people who knew Reinoehl were immediately able to recognize him as the man who fired the fatal shot.
After reviewing the footage herself, Reinoehl's sister immediately contacted her local police department, who then put her in touch with the PPB. When the officers arrived with photographs taken of the incident on Saturday, they asked if she can identify the man in the pictures. She said that it was her brother.
Media outlets have tried contacting Reinoehl, but have so far been unable to do so. One phone number listed as being associated with him has been disconnected, and another was his sister's current number.
“On the one hand, this whole thing surprises the daylights out of us, because we always thought he is a lot of bark, not a lot of bite,” said the sister. “But he's also been very impulsive and irrational.”
The sister said that Reinoehl moved away from home when she was young, and that he had been estranged from his family for at least three years when she heard the news that he may have killed someone.
“I never really knew him very well. He was just a figure that showed up every once in a while to demand money from Mom and then disappear.”
Reinoehl has described himself both as a professional snowboarder and a contractor with former military experience. He also said that he hated his time in the army.
Evidence has begun popping showing that Reinoehl was a regular participant in the Portland riots, and that he was prepared to do violence from the very beginning.
On July 5, at a demonstration in the city, Reinoehl was cited by the PPB at around 2:10 a.m. on allegations of possessing a loaded gun in a public place, interfering with police and for resisting arrest.
He was given a date to appear in court later that month. However, the charges against him were mysteriously dropped on July 30 with a “no complaint.” Nobody has spoken about why this was the case. Reinoehl has not spent any time in jail for his actions. (Related: New liberal Portland DA to drop most charges against Antifa, Black Lives Matter rioters.)
Furthermore, the night before he fatally shot the Patriot Prayer member, Reinoehl was seen with his daughter outside Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler's home.
Reinoehl and his daughter were photographed attending a rally outside Wheeler's condominium building in downtown Portland. One demonstrator who remembers seeing Reinoehl remarked that he was not wearing a mask.
Reinoehl's daughter was carrying a baseball bat, showing that even she was prepared to do violence, and he was wearing the same light-colored vest that videos and photos show him wearing at the deadly shooting the next day.
“I have my daughter here with me because I'm trying to give her an education,” he said on a video he posted on his Instagram.
While local Democrats like Mayor Wheeler are ignoring the violence perpetrated by Antifa in their cities, national Democrats like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi are preparing to declare Republicans to be “enemies of the state.” If this declaration, which is set to be announced right before the election in November, goes unchallenged, Democrats will be able to arrest GOP members and have them removed from office.
On Monday, August 31, the PPB announced that they have identified the victim of the shooting as 39-year-old Aaron “Jay” Danielson, a native of Portland. After an autopsy conducted by the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office, the manner of death was determined to be a homicide, and the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest.
“He had such a huge heart. God bless him and the life he lived,” said Joey Gibson, founder of Patriot Prayer, a group which Danielson was a member of.
Danielson's family put out a brief statement regarding the death of their beloved family member as well:
“Jay was a beautiful son, brother, cousin, nephew and friend. We will forever remember Jay's big smile, his heart and his love for family and country.”
“At this time, we do not wish to be contacted by or make any statements to the news media concerning Jay's murder. We ask that the media please respect our family's wishes, privacy and our time together to remember Jay.”
“We pray that justice is done for the senseless killing of our beloved Jay, who never did any harm to anyone and who was so selfless, generous, kind and loved everyone regardless of skin color. We pray for peace in our country and we want the violence to stop.”
