Names like John Legend, Lizzo, and Natalie Portman are reportedly demanding that police forces all across the United States be completely defunded in order to end "police brutality" and "systemic racism."
The letter, which appears to be Hollywood's attempt at trying to stay relevant in the post-coronavirus era, cites a handful of alleged police brutality incidents that have been widely reported in recent days as proof that all police are bad and need to be abolished.
"The time has come to defund the police," the letter contends, further claiming that black communities "are living in persistent fear of being killed by state authorities like police, immigration agents or even white vigilantes who are emboldened by state actors."
Instead of using tax dollars to fund police forces, these celebrities would rather see that money go to "building healthy communities" and contributing "to the health of our elders and children." It should also go "to education, to childcare, (and) to support a vibrant Black future," they claim.
"The possibilities are endless," the letter goes on to say, making sure to also add "a public national healthcare system" as something that could be created if police were to become a thing of the past.
Listen below to The Health Ranger Report as Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, issues a dire warning about how black America is fighting the wrong thing, and does not understand its real enemy:
The overall gist of the letter is that police are a "negative" presence in society, and the money that normally goes to fund them should be "repurposed" towards "positive resources." Total lawlessness, in other words, is what Hollywood is vying for in response to Floyd's death.
These same celebrities are also convinced that the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) is a product of systemic racism, contending that "COVID-19 deaths and the deaths caused by police terror are connected and consequential to each other."
Other popular names that have signed onto the letter include Jane Fonda, rapper "Common," U.S. Women's Soccer star Megan Rapinoe, Chrissy Teigen, and Blake Lively.
Black Lives Matter and "Movement 4 Black Lives" co-founder Patrisse Cullors has perhaps been the most outspoken in demanding that police forces be abolished, despite all of the rioting and looting going on in cities all across America.
She recently told Variety that one of BLM's central demands "is defunding law enforcement, reallocating those monies that it has received throughout the years and giving it back to the communities."
Cullors claims that eliminating all forms of law and order throughout society will create "a world rooted in the care and love and humanity for every human being."
What none of these celebrities are addressing, however, is all of the black lives that have been targeted by rioters and looters in recent days. Were it not for the presence of police in many areas providing at least some restraint, there is no telling how much worse the situation would be.
The celebrities who want to see police disappear have yet to indicate how they plan to continue living their lavish lifestyles in a world where law enforcement no longer exists to protect their wealth and fortunes from rioters, looters, and other terrorists.
