Years ago, beginning with the environment, Left-wing Democrats claimed that human technological advancement — modern life, in other words — alternately caused overpopulation, global cooling, global warming, and now “climate change.”
Since the 1960s, the Left used fake studies and politicized science to ‘prove’ their case, though closer examinations of the evidence revealed that researchers often came to conclusions based on pre-conceived notions and confirmation bias.
In short, if they believed that humans were causing climate change, global warming or global cooling, then they would conduct studies whose outcomes would demonstrate that — even to the point where study models were flawed to produce a desired conclusion.
Gun research has produced similar politicized research. Take, for example, a recent announcement by Rutgers University that it will launch eight separate studies involving guns, gun ownership, and the role of guns in American society. The fact that firearms ownership is a constitutionally protected right will mean nothing. Rutgers is run by Left-wing Democrats. Many of the studies are being funded by the state of New Jersey, which is run by Left-wing Democrats. New Jersey already has some of the strictest gun control laws in the country; who really believes Rutgers is going to produce a single study that supports the Second Amendment and private firearms ownership?
“Our goal is to create new insights into how society can prevent and mitigate the incidence of gun violence,” said Paul Boxer, the center’s research core director and a professor of psychology at Rutgers—Newark. “We selected these projects for their innovative and interdisciplinary approaches, and their promise to promote public health and prevent violence through new theory, practice and policy.” (Related: Over 30,000 scientists say 'Catastrophic Man-Made Global Warming' is a complete hoax and science lie.)
But wait — how do we really know that these studies have already been politicized? Because, as The Daily Targum, Rutgers’ university newspaper, reported that the studies are being financed, in part, through “a partnership with former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (D-Az.) and her husband Mark Kelly’s foundation” — which is a gun control group. The state, in partnership with the foundation, donated $2 million to Rutgers to launch the New Jersey Center for Gun Violence Research. There is no way this center will produce any research that doesn’t appear to justify new gun control. Plus, you may recall, Giffords survived a shooting during a political event in Tucson in January 2011, though the shooter was a Left-wing nut job (the media keeps forgetting that fact).
Here’s another case in point, The Washington Examiner’s Becket Adams notes: Nearly all mainstream media newsrooms ran with a ‘study’ purporting to show that hate crimes increased at 2016 Trump rallies, when in fact, it was bogus.
“Media outlets fell over each other this year to promote a study purportedly showing that counties that hosted Trump 2016 campaign rallies later experienced a 226% increase in hate crimes,” he wrote. “The study has been thoroughly debunked this week, leaving several news organizations with egg on their face.”
As The National Sentinel reported, a new analysis by two Ph.D. students from Harvard University found that “Clinton rallies contribute to an even greater increase in hate crimes incidents than Trump rallies” (emphasis in the original).
The study never did actually show that ‘Trump rallies’ led to more instances of hate crimes. Rather, “counties that hosted Trump rallies experienced 3.26 times as many incidents as other counties, a 226 percent difference.”
Come to find out, the data used in the study came from a politically biased Left-wing source, the Anti-Defamation League, and the incidents were all limited to anti-Semitism (which is a Democrat problem these days).
That fact that we can no longer trust that science won’t be politicized to serve a Democrat agenda is disgraceful. But the Donkey Party is to blame.
