The shame and embarrassment that these propaganda disseminators should be feeling right about now is overshadowed only by their continued denial of reality, as many of the usual suspects are now doubling down on the fictitious narrative that they concocted out of thin air in response to their hero, loser Hillary Clinton, failing to become America's president not once, but twice.
"Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report on Russian meddling in the 2016 election did not find that any U.S. or Trump campaign officials knowingly conspired with Russia," Reuters admitted on Sunday after the report was released. "Attorney General William Barr sent a summary of conclusions from the report to congressional leaders and the media on Sunday afternoon. Mueller concluded his investigation on Friday after nearly two years, turning in a report to the top U.S. law enforcement officer."
All along, independent news outlets like Infowars, The Gateway Pundit, and Natural News have been reporting that the whole thing was a farce right out of the gate. We endured endless ridicule, false accusations, and harassment for this, only to be vindicated in the end, just like President Trump and his campaign now are.
With absolutely nothing to say in response to this "case closed" verdict, the mainstream media outlets that perpetuated this now-debunked Russian collusion conspiracy theory from the start, in spite of our honest reporting over the past several years, are now desperately trying to spin, deflect, or somehow pivot the narrative once again in an attempt to not look like complete idiots – but it's not exactly working.
After The New York Times (NYT) tried to run with a technicality in Mueller's report about it "stop[ping] short of exonerating" President Trump – because it's the Attorney General's job to make a judgment, not the Special Counsel's, it's important to note – the fake news outlet proceeded to spin the narrative once again, claiming that those who perpetuated this conspiracy theory can now find "closure" based on the report's findings. The Intercept's Glenn Greenwald was quick to chastise this fake news purveyor, whom he fears will get away with its attempted coup on President Trump.
"It should bring 'closure' to their careers – and mass apologies and self-reflection throughout the media – but that's never how the media works," Greenwald commented on his Twitter page. "The people who spent the last two years misleading millions (while maligning anyone questioned as Kremlin spies) will only thrive."
Greenwald posted several other tweets lamenting the likely fact that the mainstream media will face minimal, if any, consequences for their collusion with the Leftist Democrats that concocted this whole scheme from the start – in the process raking in tens of millions of dollars in profits from the spreading of their lies.
"Rachel Maddow makes *$10 million a year*," Greenwald added in another tweet. "Every month, more money is put into her bank account by a major corporation than most people make in a lifetime, literally. She went on the air for 2 straight years & fed millions of people conspiratorial garbage & benefited greatly."
