During a recent interview with CBS News' Scott Pelley, McCabe admitted that officials from the Department of Justice (DOJ) met in secret to discuss the potential "removal" of President Trump after he fired former FBI Director James Comey. In other words, these alleged "American institutions" that Democrats have continually whined are "under attack" by Trump and his supporters are actually deep state assets that, because Hillary Clinton didn't win the 2016 presidential election, have dedicated their time and resources to trying to unseat the man who did win.
"There were meetings at the Justice Department at which it was discussed whether the vice president and a majority of the cabinet could be brought together to remove the President of the United States under the 25th Amendment," Pelley stated during the interview, exposing a deep state plot involving collusion and election meddling – the very things these same swamp creatures falsely accused Trump of committing.

While the existence of a deep state might appear to some as a recent creation in response to President Trump, the truth is that a "shadow" government, of sorts, has existed for at least the past 100 years. According to PJ Media's Tyler O'Neil, its existence became evident around the time when limited government burgeoned into a massive "administrative state."
"First with Woodrow Wilson's 'War Socialism' and later with Franklin Delano Roosevelt's 'New Deal,' Congress created a set of administrative agencies that would practically make law and regulate American business and life," he writes. "This state apparatus is arguably contrary to the plain text of the Constitution, and the New Deal faced challenges from the Supreme Court, leading Roosevelt to threaten 'court packing.'"
Some might argue that the concentration of evil at the highest levels of government has only increased exponentially in the years since, with deep state control over American, and really world, affairs reaching near-total status. And the capstone likely would have been placed with ease, were Hillary Clinton to have been installed as president instead of Donald Trump, sparking deep state panic at levels never before seen in the public limelight.
"The Deep State is very real," O'Neil writes, in plain and simple terms.
"It is not one massive conspiracy, but rather the work of isolated individuals who oppose Trump and his policies for their own reasons. Many of these people intend to do good, aiming to protect America from its president. Good intentions do not excuse this corruption, however," he further contends.
It is the opinion of this writer that the deep state actually leans more in the "massive conspiracy" direction than otherwise. But regardless, the "resistance" to Trump is now apparent at all levels, and within all agencies, of the bloated apparatus of coercion known as the federal government – and something needs to change.
"Government is not all bad, but Progressives need to realize that men do not become angels when they join the administrative state," O'Neil concludes, countering the Leftist narrative that more government equals utopia.
