‘POTUS Donald Trump is guilty alright,’ they told us time and time again. ‘You just wait and see! The evidence is plain!’
Only, two years after the allegations began there is no evidence outside of what some unhinged media types and the Democrats they serve imagine there is. That’s because there Was. No. Collusion.
You may recall that the House Intelligence Committee noted this about a year ago. As reported by The National Sentinel:
The House Intelligence Committee announced on Monday that it has completed its investigation into alleged collusion between the 2016 Trump campaign and Russia after finding no evidence to support the claim.
In a report, majority members of the committee said it found “no evidence of collusion, coordination or conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Russians.”
“We didn’t find any evidence of collusion and I don’t think [special counsel Robert Mueller] will either,” Texas Republican Rep. Mike Conaway, who led the bipartisan investigation, said on Fox News’ “Special Report.”
Fast-foward to last week. It took longer, but the Senate Intelligence Committee’s chairman, Richard Burr (R-N.C.), said the same thing: His panel also has not found any evidence of Trump-Russia collusion.
There’s more. Former top White House attorney for the Trump administration John Dowd told ABC News earlier this week that not only will special counsel Robert Mueller reach the same conclusion, he may not even issue a final report.
You can forgive yourself if you’re just now learning about this bombshell development because it isn’t like the establishment press is telling anyone. (Related: NewsGuard is a globalist-funded “news ratings” front to protect pro-war NeoCon interests while silencing all independent media.)
As noted by Newsbusters, the major Leftist ‘mainstream’ news outlets spent a total of 2,202 hours on the phony, fake, fabricated Russian collusion scandal but have not dedicated any air time to correcting the record and reporting the fact that the president has been mucho exonerated.
Again.
Newsbusters noted Thursday:
It’s been two days since NBC’s exclusive reporting that the Senate Intelligence Committee has found no material evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, and as of yet none of the three major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) have given it even a single second of coverage in their evening newscasts. Considering these networks have given the Russia probe a massive 2,202 minutes of airtime, their silence on this major development is deafening.
Between January 21, 2017 — the day POTUS Trump was inaugurated — until Feb. 10, 2019, the three major networks’ Russia investigation coverage amounted to 19 percent of all Trump-related reporting. But none of them mentioned the president’s exoneration as of Feb. 12.
The same was true for the networks’ flagship morning shows. Crickets, largely, save for a brief mention by ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Feb. 13.
But even then the coverage was focused largely on the fact that Democratic Senate Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Mark Warner of Virginia disagreed with Burr, but he would because Democrats are as heavily invested in perpetuating the collusion lie as the networks are, since, again, they’ve been telling everyone for years that it’s true.
When it isn’t.
“Over the past two years, broadcast evening news shows have spent more than 36 hours haranguing viewers about potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia,” wrote Newsbusters’ Bill D’Agostino. “Given their keen interest in the subject, you might expect a bipartisan group of investigators finding ‘no material evidence’ of collusion to be newsworthy. But evidently, you’d be wrong.”
This is more than just journalistic malpractice, it’s injurious to the civil society. A large plurality of Americans really believes the president colluded with Moscow to “steal the election.” Allowing them to continue believing that harms cohesiveness and perpetuates division at a time when we really need some national healing as a country.
